    Default Contraception issue

**please move if this is the wrong section**

I've recently returned to using the mini-pill after being off it for 6yrs. I have always been very good at taking it daily and at the same time (bedtime). I had never had a scare or any reason to think it wasn't working.

The first month I had pretty constant break-through bleeding from about week two until I started taking active pills from the second packet. AF was lighter than previously.

The second month, I just had a tiny bit of break-through at the end of the second week and a short/light af when on the sugar pills

I am now at the end of the second week of active pills of pack three, and again, a couple of days of break-through.

Do I need to be concerned about all this spotting???

Is the pill working or am I risking it? Should I be using condoms too? Or should I switch to a full strength pill?

Personally, I would use condoms as well and go and see you doctor. Just to be sure

I had the same when I had the implanon (same hormone as the mini pill). Though mine was bleeding for 3-4 weeks with one week of no bleeding. It was horrible. Doctor said it was still working, just the bleeding/spotting was an unlucky side effect.
