    Default Anyone a plumbing expert?

We have been in a new rental for almost 3 weeks and hadnt noticed any blockage issues but this evening i did 3 loads of washing one after the other and now the all drains seem to be blocked in the house. When the washing machine would drain i noticed the kitchen sink and toilet would bubble like crazy and then water wouldnt drain out of the sink when i used it ( just sits there for ages and eventually drains away) and both toilets are backing up and filling up to the rim when flushed and i went to let the water out of DDs bath and the water started coming up through the floor drain and flooding the bathroom floor!!!

Being a saturday night i rang the emergency number and they are calling united water as they are suspecting a sewer main pipe outside of the property to be the problem and if that doesnt fix we will need a plumber and being a Saturday night im hoping the landlords get onto someone tomorrow.

Im hoping united water can fix it as that will b quicker and they should be here tonight or early tomorrow.

Does anyone know if it sounds like its outside of the property or on the property? All i know is we have no toilets we can use!!!

When ours did that it was our pipes between the house and the main sewer connection chockers with tree roots. Was a very expensive and massive job. Hopefully the plebe can just pass up one of those root munching "rat" things and sort it out. Good luck!

We had something similar and it was a blockage at the feed in to the sewer line. As it was an SA Water/All Water property problem they fixed it for nothing for us so fingers crossed

My husbands a plumber and I just read this to him. He said its a blocked sewer pipe. Depending where it's block it's either a plumbers job or the water companies job.

SA water have been and the inspection point for our property couldnt be located so they have to come back in the morning.

Aparently it looks like its either been concreted or landscaped over :/ So they may have to dig up our driveway to even get to it and may not even be able to fix it so then we would have to contact our agency and on a Sunday for a plumber.

Meanwhile we have no toilets etc.

Thats for your posts. I hope its a quick fix but its not looking promising....

Ok so apparently there were some tree roots but he also found baby wipes too.

I hope that doesnt mean they are going to try and charge us the bill? :/
