Hi everyone! Sorry for lack of personals, just a quick update from me. I am thrilled to announce the safe arrival of our princess Ava Jean born at 41w3d at 9:04am weighing 3.4kg.

My waters broke Monday night just before 11pm. Contractions started about half an hr later. I soldiered on at home using heat pack and hot bath until I could no longer cope. We got to hospital about 5am. I was only 3cm, totally devastated and so worried about how I would cope with the pain. they offered me pethadine straight up but I refused because I was worried it was too soon and would inevitably end up with an epidural. So gas it was to my surprise through the whole birth. By 7am I was 7cm and the grandparents left home. By 8.30am I was ready to push and after a half hour of pushing Ava was born. An amazing, incredible experience I will never forget in a hurry.

She has been a little champ today, sleeping and feeding. She is latching on and sucking but my gosh are my nipples sore. I'm trying to get assistance from midwives as she's obviously not latched on correctly but it never seems a good time. I'll definitely be looking to a bf class or consultant ASAP.

Thank you to each and every one of you for your support, kind words and advice throughout this journey. Never underestimate how much you mean to people!
