Yay for online shopping I'm getting my nappy bag as a present for my birthday!

YAY I'm counting down until DF is home! 2 nights to go

how was your first night at home with River Toni? She feeding well? She's such a cutie! Can you believe you have a daughter?!

Ive noticed my bump isn't as big as it was a few weeks ago but think bub is hiding at the back as my lower back and hips hurt! I have lost 1.6kg and lighter than pre pregnancy... Don't think I'm supposed to be losing weight.
She was perfect. Such a difference in her now she is eating. See lactation consultant tomorrow. No I can't believe I have a daughter, she is so perfect. Don't worry about weight loss. Im about 15kg lighter than prepregnancy. As long as bub is growing and you aren't intentionally trying to lose weight.

Toni- glad to hear you had a good first night at home with River. It’s good you’ve got a lactation consultant coming to keep you on track.

Swizzly- congratulations, Atticus is gorgeous. It’s a lovely photo of the two of you, you look so elated!

MissFaery- that’s a good scan pic. Nice and clear. I’ve heard from several professionals that they can’t tell with any accuracy how big baby will be when born. And I believe it, as I had a scan when I was a week overdue and they predicted 8lb 10oz. Several days later when Toby was born, he was actually 7lb 2oz, so quite a difference! When I had scans earlier on I was also told that after 12 weeks the measurements are not really that accurate, in terms of due dates etc.

Lil Petal- lots of people ask for space from visitors when bub first comes home from what i’ve heard, and think the reason is it helps with bonding with the immediate family and reduces bub being introduced to new smells etc which might interfere with BF. We won’t have lots of visitors, as since moving from the UK all our family are far away, but will have my mum staying with us which will be great. We have friends who will want to visit, but I will put them off for a couple of weeks and will say we just need that time to adjust, then will happily have them over. Most people understand.

LoonyLea- Shame your DH went to work today! Time alone together is so rare and precious when you have kids. Hope he makes it up to you!

MCB- think lots of people lose weight in the first trimester due to nausea and sickness which is exactly what you’ve had I think. Don’t worry about it, your bump looks good! Yay for DF being home in 2 days!

Hello to everyone else, sorry I can’t write more, under pressure at work to get some things completed today!

AFM- I am seeing my midwife for my 34 wk appointment later today. Feel it’s creeping up fast now and got told at work today that I now have the ‘waddle’ when I walk! Nearly slapped the guy! Lol. I don’t actually think baby has dropped yet, but will see what I’m told later at my appointment. My son never engaged, which contributed to him being so overdue and having to be induced. Wouldn’t be surprised if this baby doesn’t engage properly either.

A colleague is organising a farewell baby shower/afternoon tea for me next week, as I finish up at work next Friday. It’s going to be so odd not having to work. DH finishes his current contract this week, and then the next one doesn’t start until mid August. He’s going to try to get temp work in the meantime but if he can’t get anything he’ll be off work at the same time as me....which will be really strange! I think he might drive me crazy being at home all the time. I want to have space to get things done during my maternity leave (plus lots of sitting on the sofa watching movies). He might mess up my plans! Lol. I am going to be spending a lot of my time doing birth preparation anyway....the Epi No takes 20 mins a day. Hand expressing will be 20 mins daily. Hypnobirthing practice 30 mins daily. Then acupuncture once or twice a week. Will be sick of this by the time my due date comes!

Loony, that's a shame that DH had to go to work today. I'd be annoyed by that.

MCB, I can't get over how quick your pregnancy is going. Not long til DH is home. It's good that you're using retail therapy to get you through.

    My brain is fried today.
I know, I can't believe it either! 3 weeks until morph scan! Hope bub is growing well! I love retail therapy!! It passes the time well waiting until DF comes home.

Hope you're going well lil smurfy

    MCB, I couldn't see a nub either.

I'm going well, thanks for asking. I'm feeling more pressure down low today, so wondering if bub has started moving down. Ob appt tomorrow, so will see what she says.
