Default TTC - How long did/should you wait?

    Hi
I had a D&C two weeks ago after miscarrying twins.

I had a check up with my OB today and she says we're ok to start TTC straight away. I was going to wait one cycle but am now unsure.

How long did you wait or were told to wait?

    Thanks

Sorry if this question has already been asked!

I forgot to add that I had a blood test to check where my hCG is at.

Hi! I had a d&c almost 7 weeks ago and am now 4 weeks pregnant! We intended on waiting until AF showed but nature had other plans. Couldn't be happier lets hope this one sticks. Good luck and I'm sure you'll make the right decision

Hi LJs, I think I've seen you in another thread

we were originally told by ob to wait 2-3 cycles after hcg went neg, but then speaking to her and saying AF arrived she said we could try when we were ready (I think thats what she said anyway!). I think at the end of the day it depends on how you feel and what you're comfortable with - i.e if you were planning on waiting for one cycle then that's what you should stick with.

I'm just wondering if my body will be healed enough if we don't wait one cycle. Hmmmm lots to think about!

I think (may be wrong) the only reason they tell you to wait is so they can date the pregnancy accurately. As long as everything went well with your d&c, it should only take a week or so to recover completely. It's the emotional healing that takes longer. You need to do what's right for you. And thank you! We're cautiously excited

I know exactly how u feel, its such a tough decision. I had a miscarriage in april & my OB said we could start TTC right away however I had the same doubts as u. I was worried I wouldn't be healed enough or that my hormones wouldnt be back on track to support a pregnancy. The royal womens hospital website recommends waiting until u get ur first period.

I spoke to my ob again about it & he said its really up to u & if u feel ready. Ive seen ppl on here getting pregnant straight after a miscarriage and not even getting their next period. Do what ur gut says.

I decided to wait until I got my first period as I would have been worried if something went wrong (if I got pregnant straight away) that it was because I didnt give myself enough time to get back on track.

Thanks ladies I think I will wait one cycle even though I'm desperate to be pregnant again!
