Hi everyone need some fast help. My car battery has gone dead and not sure how to jump start it. I have the jumper leads and a mate that can help but he has no idea which point goes where. Can anyone help please?

Red cable to positive terminal on batteries, black cable to negative terminals. Always do negatives last and make sure you don't touch the cables to each other.

And best to leave the car you are jumping off running. That way you don't drain the battery

    Black is negative
    Red is positive

    Turn both cars off

Look on the battery terminal (the little metal bits that stick up) for either a red mark/cover or a + and attach the red lead (do the same with the other car)
Then attach the black (or other colour) lead to the negative terminal on each car
And now start the working car and run it for a few mins, rev the engine occasionally for extra power to go through
    Good luck!

How old is your car? Just be careful, jump starting new model cars 5 yrs or newer can fry the car computer that feeds your electrica, including power steering and fuel injection.

You have to be careful with new cars. If you do it incorrect you need a code to get the computer running so the car will start.

When mine died dp connected the jumper cables while the working car was running then started my car. Then left it run for at least half an hour.
