Default Sorry, gross topic, mucous in poo

Sorry this is pretty foul but I was wondering if anyone has any info on mucous in poos? My 6 month old is ff and on solids, does roughly 3 poos per day but for the last day or so there has been a bit of mucous in the stool and they have been quite loose.

He seems ok otherwise. No vomiting, etc.

Can be a sign of lots of different things. Intolerance would be a common one.

PS - you should get your bubs checked at the doctors though. These things can point to other things as well, so should be properly checked out.

Possible intolerance. My 2 who were intolerant to dairy and soy had mucous in very loose stools.

Can be intolerance to cows milk. But seems odd to start now though is possible. Also can be if they had a snotty nose and are swallowing some mucous.

Has he had a runny nose at all? I know when bubs have colds they swallow a lot of mucus which In turn can appear in their poo. But if he hasn't best get him checked for an intolerance of some kind.

Looks like I might have to get him checked for an intolerance if it doesn't clear up in the next day or so. Thanks all

Have you recently changed formula at 6 months by the way? My FF DS had problems when we changed to stage 2 formula so we reverted back to stage 1.

Yes! Good thinking! I'm still using s26 but went up a stage.

No runny nose but always quite dribbly so could be that too.
The last nappy was still very loose but no mucous.

    Thanks for the replies.

I'm about to go up to level 2 s26 gold as well, I'll let you know if it happens here as well. Hopefully he doesn't have an intolerance and it's just dribble!!
