awwww what a beautiful wee man you have there. Congrats hun. I'm glad to hear he is safe and sound and is a nice weight.
It's fantastic they are letting you keep him with you during the day
How is the feeding going now? and how are you feeling?

Feeding is going a lot better now He can attach but he still gets tired if he tries to take too much. It's a shame because my milk has come in and I feel like I am going to pop I have lumps under my arms and even when bubs has a good feed he is struggling to even empty one side. Hopefully we can get it all sorted before we go home on Saturday. They should be weighing Atticus tomorrow, we get to see how he is going, I can't wait!

Can you express after a feed?? I'm glad to hear things are going well. I've been through months and months of twice weekly weigh ins with my dd.. sometimes daily in hospital. ..I understand the weight gain issues!!! Let us know how he goes.

Your boobs will settle down and get used to bubs appetite. I would be careful about expressing, this may make your boobs even fuller.

Have hubby massage the hard bits in your boobs when feeding. This is what the midwives told me in hospital it was great advice...

Thanks ladies I am going to try just a little massage to soften things up. Unfortunately DF is home with our other kiddies so I have to get creative (or grow more hands) in order to massage while bubs feeds, but I can try though
Here is just one more shot of the happy little man!

He's just so cute! Congrats again!

Your milk will settle down, especially if he feeds from you more often. My ds had feeding issues early on due to severe jaundice (he had 2 days under lights). He was just too tired to feed from me. But, within 2 weeks that was behind us and he fed til 12 months. The early days were hard though and I also found later on that if I expressed I couldn't empty the breast as well as if he fed from me. What about expressing, then if there are still lumps present getting him to feed then?

He seems to be feeding better, still only for short bursts and then falling asleep again, but he knows what he is doing now
We are heading home tomorrow! Bubs has only a little jaundice and hasn't lost any more weight so I get to bring him home. I am so nervous as I dont know what to expect as far as routine, at the moment it's feed and sleep and thats it!

It will stay feed and sleep for a while! Good luck

Re the falling asleep dd is a sleeper too I tickle her hands, rub her cheek, etc to try and keep her awake. Then I do a nappy change and switch boobs, she usually gets excited by the rush of milk from a new boob lol
