Default Midwife Group Practice or Share care with GP - RNS

    Hi.

First timer, very excited mum to be from NZ, Anticipated Due date 14th Feb (also my birthday).
Wondering what others experiences have been with RNS and the above options?
Have no idea where to start with anything, and not sure quite how things work in Aussie.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks

    Hi ya,

I'm a kiwi too and currently 36wks pregnant and in shared care.
I've found the whole process confusing, but it maybe because I haven't been able to secure the same GP at the health centre I attended (have since changed).
I have taken on a student midwife that has been more effective as my assigned midwife was out for mths with an injury.
All things going well, I would however recommend shared care IF you have a good reliable GP and hopefully midwife.

I do prefer the NZ model of an assigned midwife for your whole pregnancy.
