There is also the sperm meets egg plan (SMEP). Basically if you know when you ovulate, you dtd every 2nd day leading up to it, the day before o, day of o, and day after o.
I believe thats had a fair bit of success too...but you need to know when you ovulate, which brings us back to opks and temping lol

Yes from what you said you pretty much only gave yourself one chance for a positive for the month as I don't think the after o is very successful. I think we BD just about each day after I got my pos OPK

I'm not sure it matters? I haven't heard of anyone saying there was a particularly good one...
I've seen them in my local chemist, I think $10-15? And I think most places who sell internet cheapy hpts and opks sell them too. From memory, I think oracle fertility sell them for around $8? They also do packages with a thermometer and opks...

BDing 2 days after O is pointless as far as TTC goes. The best time to BD is as your OPKs are getting darker and when they are at their darkest, as your surge (positive OPK) happens around 24 to 36 hours before O. I hope this is helpful. Good luck!
Thanks is does. Least it gives DH a rest lol

Only thing is I heard and read that you can get more than one pos LH surge. I had strong pos on the Tuesday so I assumed o was Wednesday then for the hell of it tested again and got another strong on Thursday morning. We BD'd starting Saturday (prior to first pos) through to Thursday to cover all bases. I'm thinking maybe I either didn't o or I missed it somehow?!

Sorry about the rant but I'm a problem solver and this one's got me stumped

The other thing... Try not to let it get you down. In a prefect world where a women ovulates perfectly, theres no issues for fertility, and they bd at the right times... There is only around a 30% chance of success, and I've heard that as many of half of successful conceptions end in loss (either they don't implant, theres an abnormality, or theres a miscarriage later on)

Sorry, not saying this to freak you out, but theres soooo much that has to be "right" its a wonder we concieve at all!
Its like the planets all must align at the same time theres an eclipse, while we bd in the middle of a meteor shower... Lol.

It will happen though its quite likely you could have had a strong surge between the 2 positive opks as well, and caught either side.
Maybe different sensitivity opks may help?
I've heard alot of women don't get positives on the first response opks, but get positives on other brands using the same wees from the same cup.
I've only used opks for one cycle. I used first response. (last minute impulse buy) I got...
almost or maybe even positive the first time (cd16 mid arvo),
    positive (cd17 mid arvo),
super positive (test line twice as dark) cd17 dinner time. Strong o pains and ewcm around midnight.
Another positive or almost positive cd18 early arvo.

If I hadn't done the 2nd one on cd17, I would have had 3 days of potential opks!

I think the safest is BDing every other day from the beginning to end of your fertile period. So about 10 days after the first day of your period for about 10 days.

I always have a faint line on my OPKs, so for me I can really only trust a line that is as dark or darker than the test line. I also get a lot of EWCM. This past cycle we started BD on day 10, I got a positive OPK day 12 and we BD that day and the two days following. My EWCM had definitely stopped by the time we finished BD.

I got a positive OPK much sooner (3-4 days) than my fertility app anticipated. I also find not drinking at all a couple hours before testing and testing around 4/5pm makes a difference. I think you have to test a couple times a day because you can miss the positive surge since they only seem to stay around for 12 hours or so.

    Good luck for next month!

The heavy duty clear blue monitor i thought would have picked up something by now but been awake at odd times to when it gets tested and friday went to bed very late and had been at the gym prior so had a lot of water in me so that has probably not helped the last few days after this weekend may just have to go with the flow and think body showed symptoms all apps said it was this week and then just wait for AF to show or not show i guess. Next month not hit button on monitor at 8pm lol.

What does everyone think of bassinets? We were in Target looking yesterday and hubby thought they were a bit of a waste and it would be better to go straight to cot.. Thoughts?
