    Default Dad and partner pay

My husband claimed the dad and partner pay the day after our little one was born. He was told 3 weeks until it starts which is pretty ridiculous as we have a mortgage and food to buy. So he used annual leave and carers leave for 2 weeks first so that it will start without interruption to pay.

But now he has started panicking about it and called centrelink to get through to an information spiel about it taking 6 weeks!!

Anyone have any experience with dad pay and when It was paid? We can't seem to get through to anyone to talk directly and there's a huge lineup at the branch and we're freaking out that we won't be able to afford anything next week.

Unfortunately these payments are usually subject to delay.... What will you use for bills and mortgage after the two weeks Dad pay? Can you use that?

We actually got it just 2 weeks after DS was born. I completed it online then as soon as I received DS's birth cert I took it in and they lodged it. Could have just gotten lucky tho
