Default Recommend me a hotel in Brisbane

I'm travelling to the Gold Coast and Sunshine Coast with the family in a couple of months. I have my accommodation sorted for most of the trip but still need to need to find a hotel in Brisbane to stay for just one night as our flight home leaves at 8am. Looking at the Novotel Brisbane Airport at the moment ... but are there any other suggestions?

I would stay at Novotel if you just want somewhere to sleep and don't need to explore! Will you have a car that you are dropping off at the airport?

    Some nice city hotels are

    -Sofitel Brisbane (5 star elegance)
    -oaks festival towers (very modern)
-the Pullman king George square (great location )
    -rendezvous (older but nice )

We recently stayed at the Sofitel (pure elegance), Novotel inner city (great value for money and wonderful service in a good location) and the Pullman at King George Sq which was good service and really nice rooms but you could hear all the city noises which we didn't have at the Sofitel or Novotel even though they were both in the city.

Yep we'll have a hire car that we will need to drop off at the airport before our flight, so looking for somewhere to stay so we can explore the city for an afternoon, have dinner and head back to the hotel to sleep before flying out the next morning.

Sofitel (and other inner city hotels) is about 20mins from the airport in good traffic, can be longer in peak hour rushes

the only things at Novotel airport are harbourtown - discount shopping , and very limited choices for dinner!

Wherever you book, try and get parking included otherwise its very expensive to park in Brisbane!
