    Default Croup??

So 2 mornings ago i was woken to my 2.5 year old DS gasping for breathe. Scariest thing in the world and i wouldnt wish it on my worst ememy.

Anyway, he was rushed to the hospital and diagnosed with severe croup. He was never sick, no fever etc just a normal winter runny nose.
Hes been fine since, eating, sleeping, playing etc. He still has an occasional cough and gasp and he has a bit of a runny nose (clear) but he doesnt seem sick. Hes happy and normal.

My question is, is he contagious? We normally go to playgroup tomorrow.

    Thanks

Not sure if that link will work. But yes croup is contagious in the first few days. However it says once they are feeling better they can return to activities

The Croup cough itself is not contagious it's the virus that comes with it that is, I personally wouldn't take my DS out to play group of he was still coughing but if you don't think he is otherwise unwell it's up to you really

I hate croup. My youngest two get it and I keep them home for a week. Croup can be sneaky and appears to be gone during the day but by late night - early morning I know they still have it by their breathing and seal like bark. It is contagious too so yes I'd keep him home for another few days.
