    Default Low Foetal Heart Rate

    Hi All,
just looking for some people's experience or thoughts as what I have read on the net isn't good :-(
I had an internal ultrasound showing I was 6wks 2days and the foetal heart rate was only 83bpm, the lady said that was slightly low and said once I speak to my doctor might have to have another ultrasound!
Has anyone else had this and ended up with a strong and healthy baby and pregnancy! I am so worried and this is our first pregnancy after trying for 1 year!
    Thank you :-)

    Hugs!

You will get a mixed bag of replies. Some will be success stories and some will, unfortunately, be stories of miscarriage and d&c.

What the ultrasound tech said is probably what your doctor recommends too, so a repeat ultrasound.

    Try not to stress yourself.

Im sorry I don't have good news my last pregnancy I had a scan at 6wks 3days and it was 110bpm I then started spotting that week so had another scan that showed HB of 80-90bpm I was told things can go either way so they scheduled another scan for the following week which confirmed I had lost the baby I did have increased bleeding at that stage but no cramps, don't loose hope because you have no bleeding and there is a chance things can improve I have heard of woman going to next scan and heartbeat is well over 100. Good luck

It truly depends on when bub's heart started beating as they start off around 80bpm and increase by about 10bpm per day. Hopefully bub only just started, and you'll have another scan and see a beautiful fast blip on the screen!

Will cross my fingers for you xxx

Hi Smash, i had the exact same thing happen to me. We thought i was 8 weeks from LMP and went for a scan and the HR was 70bpm. the sonographer basically told me to expect the worst. turns out the gestational age was only 7 weeks and when i went back a week later the HR was galloping! Im now 18weeks and everything is going swimmingly.
Dont give up on your little bub just yet and definately do not google low fetal heartrate.... It wont help one bit.
Fingers and toes for your next scan! Im proof that they get it wrong sometimes!

Were you supposed to be 6w2d? If dates match up there is a chance that everything is ok. I got told that 80 to 120 is in range for 6 weeks

Smash, I had 'threatened miscarriage' at 10 and 11 weeks. Any bleed in early pregnancy is called that. The cervix has more blood than usual and that was the cause of my bleed.
Had a scan at 12 weeks and she was fine. No bleeding since then. Apparently it's not uncommon to have a bit of light bleeding in the first trimester. Sometimes it's just because the placenta is sitting a bit low. It isn't always sinister!
