    Default Calcium spot found

Just wondering if anybody can give me advice. I recently had my 20 week scan and the doctor told me they have found a calcium spot on the baby's liver. I have to go back at the end of July for another scan. But no information was given to me regarding what it is, what could possibly happen. All I was told was "not to stress", which I am. Anyone who has had this, been through it I would really appreciate your advice or feedback.
    Thank you

Hi Nat - when you say calcium spot do you mean an echogenic focus on the liver? As in, were they saying to you the spot on the liver was as bright as bone?

They didn't say? Just that a calcium spot was found. What is echogenic focus?

Hi Nat, my DS had echogenic bowel at his 20wk scan. Echogenic is when the area looks as bright as bone on the scan. It can be a soft marker for sone genetic disorders or illnesses. i had follow up scans and blood tests. Turned out to be nothing - probably just faulty equipment at the scan place.

If you are worried I would ask your GP or OB for advice/clarification of your scan results.

Hugs to you - it can be very stressful but it's more than likely nothing to worry about.
