Default Third failed IVF cycle (despite Blast and previous pregnancy)

    Hi,
Would really appreciate your help, insights, ideas as I am desperate

I’m 34, had 3 previous failed pregnancies (2 abortions due to genetic disorders at week 16, 1 didn’t develop properly at week 8).

After that, I’ve done 3 IVF with PGD cycles, each cycle I had 2-3 X 5 day blast transferred (good endometrial thickness) yet no luck.

Any thoughts / ideas on why this is happening? I understand I should have good chances… are there additional treatments, diagnosis, drugs I should take?

    Thanks for the kind help,
    Kate

That sucks sweetie. Sorry I don't have much more to offer. Natural killer cells should have stopped the previous pregnancies so its probably not that. Maybe since then your system has changed and your body is attacking the embryos? I've heard of that happening.

I'm so sorry for your struggles. After 3 x failed transfers my FS did some further testing and found my NK cells were 'activated' meaning my immune system has been fighting off the embryos before they could implant
All this has happened since I had my son who was conceived on the 3rd try and a straight forward pregnancy (i have also had 1 chem preg since too). Could they test you for that in case something's changed?
It's a frustrating journey when they transfer great embryos and all your levels are good but you have repeated BFN.
I wish you all the best and do keep us posted xxx

Subbing. Ive had two failed cycles and am wondering what tests can be done if our next one fails.

As you can see from my signature, I had a number of failed cycles when TTC#3, despite each embryo transferred being grade 1. My FS ordered testing for NKC which was a little ambiguous but enough for her to put me on Clexane and steroids. She said that I may have developed an immune response sometime after having babies #1 and 2. While it didn't happen on the first cycle after going on the additional meds, I did conceive on our final transfer. I am sure that part of the successful recipe was the Clexane and steroids. I strongly recommend you get tested for immunity issues. They can develop as you get older.

Be sure to have thyroid function tested too. It needs to be perfect to maximise chance of conception. Suboptimal function can be sorted out be meds.

So sorry to hear about your failed cycles I've just had our 2nd failed cycle - that's after having DD#1 on a successful first cycle a few years back. We've tried 2 different types of FET's - I don't know what we will do the 3rd time around (haven't been brave enough to ring up and discuss it yet). I was also told all my levels were great, endo was great, embryos were excellent - everything excellent yet still no pregnancy!! Maybe the NK testing that the other ladies might be a good idea? How do you test for that? Is that a blood test they do?
