Default TTC with slightly long cycles?

My cycles are usually around 35-38 days. I fell pregnant in February for the first time but had a natural m/c at 9 weeks.

I know I ovulate as I have had a few 7dpo progesterone blood tests that have confirmed ovulation every time. I am ovulating around day 21-24 I think. I know my cycles aren't extra long as I have read some ppl's go for months. But TTC with 35-38 day cycles is so frustrating. I have also had thyroid/hormone level blood tests done which have all come back fine too.

I'm worried that ovulating later in the cycle around day 21 can cause bad eggs? Does any anyone know anything about this? Or does is not matter when u ovulate in ur cycle and as long as ur ovulating that's ok?

Would love to hear if anyone knows any info or has had healthy pregnancies conceiving with longer cycles. I'm worried i might be producing bad eggs by ovulating later and I keep thinking it could have contributed to the m/c.

I don't really want to take Vitex or anything as I would be worried about side effects.

    Has anyone else had similar?

Yes I have long cycles due to pcos. Two separate specialists told me the best chance to fall preg with good eggs is a 28-32 day cycles. The eggs of longer cycles are apparently not as good. I have been TTC number 2 with no luck so now on clomid to help regulate my cycles. Vitex I have heard is very gentle so might be worth a shot ? Good luck

I have been using vitex cause of pcos and haven't had any side effects. I had to use provera to bring on AF as my last cycle was109 days long!

Sorry to hear that you're worried about your long cycle - I'm sure that's the last thing you need when you're TTC!

If it makes you feel better, I also have a long cycle (35 days) and had no trouble conceiving and a perfectly healthy little girl - very alert, cheeky and a joy to be around. At 21 months, she is advanced in most areas. So it's definitely possible to have a long cycle and a healthy baby.

    Good luck TTC!

I've always had a long cycle, around 35-37 days. DS was conceived the 1st month we tried!

My cycles were around the 35 day mark when I fell pregnant with my twins - they're happy, healthy 2 year olds.

This is my story too, exactly. We weren't preventing for a few years without luck, but the month that worked was the first time we DTD at calculated times.

I took conceive well gold, Maca powder and used preseed. I don't know what the thing was that actually made it work. It could have been one, all or none of those that led to the BFP! I'm now 26 weeks.

Thanks everyone, its great to hear you had healthy babies conceiving with a longer cycle!

I think I am stressing about anything and everything at the moment which I know won't help the situation at all!

I'm currently on day 20 atm & still no signs of ovulation & I usually get signs a few days before so no idea what's going on. I hope the m/c hasn't messed with my cycles even more...

I didn't ovulate until day 22 on the month I conceived. OPKs really helped get me used to my body's cycle.
