I had grazed nipples a few days after dd was born and the women's health physio in hospital gave me a few treatments of laser therapy which really helped them heal. I would definitely see a LC but physio may help too

Still looking for the pack...will have a good look once kids are in bed! I have a scab on my nipple currently so I really need to find it!
Sorry was going to jump in earlier and mention this but didn't want to 'intrude' and wasn't positive that we were talking about the same thing but to save you from looking I thought I would mention that I think you may be talking about the same things I mentioned earlier in the thread. They are called rite aid disk gel pads. Does that sound familiar?

Thanks heaps for the link! I'll definitely look in to those. I also have some rite aid discs I just found that I've never had to open.

Are these type of products designed to be 'reactive', so use after a feed to help pain? Or would they be beneficial with healing any time?

When I had thrush I had the same kind of pain on starting to feed. It would then die down and be ok.

Using the daktarin won't hurt anyway!!

    Good luck. Thrush is sh!t

I have cracked nipples that have become quite painful. I assumed it was because DS was not latching correctly. I went to a lactation consultant today and she thinks that both I and DS have thrush. She also suspects there may be an infection present. She took a swab and a sample of breast milk and sent it to pathology for testing. In the meantime, whilst waiting for the results she recommended an anti fungal cream for me and some drops for DS. We have commenced both.

I would highly recommend a lactation consultant if that option is available to you.
