Default Success stories after both tubes removed?

Hi Ladies, my first pregnancy was achieved by ICSI. So we were quite surprised to fall PG naturally after only 3cycles. However, I had surgery for an ectopic PG last night and they had to remove both tubes. I will now only be able to conceive through IVF.

I was wanting to hear IVF success stories after a bilateral salpingectomy, please. Had you already had a successful pregnancy through IVF? How long after the surgery did you start?

    TIA.

Hi VickiB, I'm really sorry for your loss. If you don't mind me asking were you expecting twins for the need to have both tubes removed or were there other medical issues? I had an ectopic resulting in losing my right tube. I am not sure how long they might want you to wait before IVF but my OB indicated that you generally heal quite quick after salpingectmy and suggested waiting 2 cycles before trying again. With your past successful pregnancy resulting in your son, this is the most promising factor for subsequent successful ivf attempts so in this should give you some comfort. Best wishes I am eager too to hear if there are successful ivf bubs after ectopics xx

I doubt that I was expecting twins, but dont yet know why both tubes needed to be removed. The OB showed me the before and after photos and there is no question that the removal of both was necessary. He hopes to have the pathology results by the time I have my post op check up (which would have been my first prenatal appointment). Both tubes were grossly swollen and full of blood.

I got my results today, it wasn't twins. I probably had a pelvic infection at some stage during the two years since my HyCoSy was all clear. Apparently 40% of women who have pelvic infections are asymptomatic.
