Default Survey: Tell us about your birth experience to help us improve Maternity Care

Help us to improve Maternity Care services in Australia and tell us about your birth experience and what you would like to see offered to all women in Australia.

We are also looking for women in the Brisbane area who may be interested in participating in a focus group about birth, so please fill in your details on the survey so we can contact you.

Women need to have their say and make the Health Professionals listen.

Thank you for your time in completing the survey

Hi, sounds like an interesting project, I'm just wanting to know which organisation is doing the research when you say "we"?

    Hi Girlyboo,

Embrace Life (based in Brisbane's northern suburbs) is the organisation conducting the survey and provides Private Midwifery services (among many other pregnancy, birth and baby services). We are passionate about improving Maternity care for all Australian women. We have recently met with Queensland's Health Minister and have met the Federal Health Minister on a few occasions to discuss how we can improve maternity services for all women. Both State and Federal Government seem to be on the same page and would like to see more midwife led care and continuity of care for women.

We believe that if women (the consumer) demand better care, we can help to change the culture that exists amongst some health professionals and get evidence based practice, into our health system.

I hope that answers your question.

Thank you to all of the ladies who have completed the survey!

The more women who participate in the survey and voice their needs in regards to maternity care, the better we will be able to present our findings to people who make the decisions.

Did you have a great birth experience? Could it have been better?

Our birth experiences stay with us for the rest of our lives. It impacts how we bond with our baby and further to that, how we parent and in turn, impacts on relationships and marriages.

Fill in our survey (will only take you 3 minutes) and tell us about your experience so we can help improve maternity services.

    Thanks for participating.
