Hi ladies, can I join? I've been reading your thread off and on and trying to gather the courage to pop in and say hello!

I am on my third ivf cycle (and third this year) and have just had epu yesterday. I got 6 eggs and 5 have fertilised. Just waiting on et which is scheduled for this coming Saturday (my first ever 5dt this is the one). I have dinner at Aria that night, so no wine for me oh well, it won't kill me!

I think I've met some of you on other threads over the last few months

Chiefsgirl-Hi & Welcome!! 5 eggs to work with is great!! Fingerscrossed you have 5 beautiful blasts to chose from on Saturday!!! Will you be transferring just one? Don't worry about the wine-Aria is one of my favs, with it without wine!!

Nattie-I can't really remember what it was like after a stim, however my immune system has turned to crap after having DS2! (4 colds/flu in 4 months!?) wish I knew how to get it back up there..

Simpson-fantastic news Hun!! Can't wait for next week!! 😉 I think we'll all be logging on to hear the news!

    Fingerscrossed-congrats on being PUPO.

We'll transfer 2 if we can, they won't let us transfer two a grades (if we get any) but will put the best one back, freeze any good ones and if there's an ok one but not good enough to freeze they'll give me that one too. I'd prefer to transfer 2 of the best ones, but oh we'll.

Yes, it's my first time to go to Aria, I'm looking forward to it!

Chiefsgirl- Very happy to have a new member in our thread, welcome aboard! 3 fresh cycles within a year is tough going, I hope you get your BFP this time around. You're off to great start with that brilliant fert rate, have you had an update on your 5 embies yet? I hope they're all still going strong I haven't been to Aria either, have heard great things about it though. I hope it lives up to its reputation for you!

TTHC- Thanks hun! I am busting for the scan to roll around... 6 days to go

I'm not sure that the clinic will update me. This is the first time I've had a 5dt so I'm not sure if they will call me in between or just wait for the day (they don't update on 3dt). In some respects this cycle has been very different for me, different drugs and cycle type (antagonist vs long down reg) so I'm in the dark and trying not to overthink things too much!

Here's hoping the next 6 days go by fast for you!

Chiefsgirl.. congrats on great numbers - 5 fertilised. That's a great start. Good luck on how they progress and for ET.

AFM... just to let you know that unfortunately my follicles aren't looking great. Today is d10 of GonalF, and I've only got 4 tiny ones - 5,9,10 and 13. My FS rang this afternoon and said, we'll see how another BT and scan go on Friday, but they're growing really slowly, plus not having many, that he recommends cancelling this cycle.

Of course, I'm really bummed about that. He reckons that if we cancel and try again next month we may get more, as differences just occur from month to month. But I wonder, if we cancel, and then next month, we're still in the same boat. And of course, on my 4th cycle I only had two follicles - he recommended cancelling then, but I said no, as they were good sizes and ready to go on d10, so we went ahead. We only had one fertilise, but it stopped growing on day 3, so considering the follicles this time are growing slowly, it makes sense that's what will happen to any embryos too. But my 3rd cycle follicles were slow growing, but we got a really nice one to transfer, so I just don't know what to think. I guess there's nothing I can do, and just wait out til Friday and see what the scan says then.

MGC Bertie, have you ever tried saizen? It's a human growth hormone. I know some clinics are doing a light study on this (I participated on this cycle which is my best yet so far). I have low amh and am a poor responder to the meds (1st cycle 2 eggs, 2nd cycle 4 but only 2 fertilised).

My usual cycle is 450 gonal F and lucrin, this time I was on 450 gonal f, orgalutran and the study drug. I think you have to be under 42 and a bmi of 32 and have had 2 previous cycles. It's something to ask about. My clinic said Saizen is usually $200 for one vial which lasts around 2 days (I used 7.5 vials) but under the trial its free. You do run the risk of getting a placebo, but it might be worth a try? I was still slow to grow (stimmed for 14 days) but I has 6 good sized follicles by day 13.

MGC- sorry to hear things are slow going. I really hope the follies have grown by tomorrow and you won't have to cancel

Chiefsgirl- I couldn't cope with being in the dark like that! My clinic checks on Day 1 to give a fert result, then on Day 3 to see how many are still going and what stage they are at. Sending positive vibes to your embies

Fingerscrossd- hope you're going OK in the TWW so far
