We only just started with her, since we have MFI she was suggested to us as an expert in that field. Found her positive so far, old school with her notes, but very upfront and honest.

But as I said, we've only just picked up meds for cycle one that may kick off next week..

    Nvb, glad to hear.

Sorry booboo. Hugs. We saw Dr Anne Jequier at pivet for DH side of thing. So i cant comment much on her protocol for female side of thing. However, she wasnt keen to check me through -- didnt want to order any test for me (only the AMH test which i insisted). Now i am quite bump to find out not so brilliant ultrasound result this past weekend (requested by my FS in sydney). And you probably know the rest of the story. She doesnt offer DH the surgery so we are going east.

Yes she is the only MFI in perth. I think most people who have mild issue got good results from her. DH issue is severe. A bit old school -- there are better techniques available out there now, which she doesnt practice.

Booboo, i can't advise whether you should see her or not. She is known as a male fertility specialist (as far as we know) and the only one who can do surgical biospy in Perth. That's the only reason why we went with her. Perhaps somebody here at BH can give you the info which clinic does 3dt in Perth. We haven't even started a cycle.

DH has severe problem -- non-obstructive azoospermia. Most people DH who has low count or obstructive azoo got good results with Dr. J. She basically gave us zero chance with the biospy. Yes, it was the worst day in our life. We are in the unfortunate pool because some men who have the same condition as my DH have low counts. Anyway, found a thread here at BH. People recommended two Dr in the east who do micro-surgical biopsy. Dr. J only practices conventional method which is randomly cutting a sample from the testes and has the scientist looks for swimmers under the microscope. The procedure repeats until the swimmers are found or until the Dr declares no hope (it is a bit like looking for a needle in the haystacks). This method is quite successful for non-obstructive azoo patients.

The Drs out east operate with a microscope, which magnifies the tubules in the testes. They will only cut out potential samples. That means the chance is higher to find swimmers than the conventional method. Based on DH blood test result (there is a correlation between certain hormone with the success rate), the Dr out east is giving us 50% chance! See, second opinion counts! We don't want to go onto the donor list without having this last surgery done.

    Good luck Booboo.

Hi all, hope it is ok me jumping in - reading what is happening with you booboo78 I couldn't not.
DH and I are with fertility north, so far this year I have completed two stim cycles both with 3 day transfers and a frozen transfer. We haven't had great fertilisation results due to the severe lack of sperm as my husband has a blockage, I will be honest I don't get involved with the technical side of it all I know what I need to know which is DH has pretty much nothing coming through the pipes and what 'was' (nothing at all was found on our last pick up so frozen has to be used) very very very average SO we have just started seeing a new specialist at Fert north whom immediately said DH will be having the biopsy done the day we have pick up and he is very optimistic that we won't have to do another full cycle...

I know how you feel, and like you said I am sure a lot of us on here - this can be a very lonely road!!

Booboo I can't comment too much on the MFI side of things - even though we needed IVF/ICSI due to low/poor everything (after vasectomy reversal) DH could still produce enough viable swimmers in a standard sample, but just wanted to let you know we went to Pivet in Leederville and had a successful 3 day transfer.
