I saw him about 9 years ago and yes he was very harsh. It was just after losing my first born at full term. Basically his answer was lose the weight and you'll conceive. Well guess what? I'm way lighter than I was back then and along the way didn't conceive naturally and still haven't. I'm just not convinced conception is all weight related.

I have thought of either switching to Concept or Fertility North. Fertility North would be a bit of a trek for me as I live SOR.

Any ladies gone to Fertility Specialist South?

Butterfly78 I haven't been to any SOR clinics but I've been with concept for nearly 2yrs and can't speak more highly of them. I do feel that it's the FS who helps to make the journey better also though. Good luck!

Im at Fert North with Dr Natalwala I havent started any IVF yet but so far they've been great, very informative and pretty proactive. It is an awful trek out there (we're in the east so NOTHING is close) but I think its worth it. Tuesday we get our results and in the PLAN so I can update from there.

So we have a plan!!Just finished up at the appt and its definitely ICSI for us! DH's levels came back at 7.9mil with only 3% worthy of being used. Unfortunately its a blockage issue so not much we can do. Next step is all the counselling etc and cant do that til early july which is too late for my next cycle so looks like I wont be going to Melbourne in Aug

Evening all, I hope you are all well. I have been lurking in the background and wishing you well. IVF is honestly one of the hardest things and we should all be really proud of ourselves regardless of our outcomes. It builds strength of character and puts things into perspective. I have had 3 collections and 6 transfers, no success but we persist. With the ladies at fert north, they are good but just keep on top of your plan. They have become SO busy lately and I found that they started to miss things. I won't say what happened to me because I'm convinced it was a once off, but just be vigilant. The nurses are great there. I'm moving to FSWA, does anyone go there? Im looking for a place that is up to date with research and are willing to try everything. I'm keeping my eye on EmbryoGen which seems to have some success in SA, so hope that Perth jumps on the wagon. Anyway, goodnight, sleep tight and all the best! You are all wonderful strong warrior women!

Hi ladies. Quick question for those who have done FET at Pivet, I have a day ten appt for my cycle but can anyone tell me how many times I would need to go in again before they do transfer. It will be a day 5/6 blasto.

Anyone thinking about going to Fert North do no waste your time!! They've given me the run around since we first made the appt in March and have dragged out every single process possible! I hear of girls getting to start cycles straight after their testing and Ive been told we now have to wait 5 weeks to see a counsellor (Fert north is the only clinic in WA to make this compulsory) this will push me into the second day of my cycle and therefore we will need to wait another month before being able to start and Im sure they find some other excuse as to why we cant start then as well.

The nurses are fairly pleasant (one or two are complete c*ws) and I definitely feel like a number. We have done everything they asked and still get denied. If I havent spent so much money with them so far I would well and truly be telling them where to stick their procedures!

    Rant over...

I'm at Pivet at have never had a problem. Started straight after testing finished, the nurses and docs were always friendly. Hope you get to start your journey soon. The waiting sucks!!

Sorry to hear that wishnhope. It is a hit and miss sometime. No matter how many good reviews I heard about one clinic, there are always some bad reviews about it even a particular doctor. So sometime we just have to go with our heart and wish for the best. Can you have a chat about this with your FS? Telling he/she how you feel about not sticking to their procedures?

Oh...i haven't been posting much on this thread. We wasted a month with the wrong info from GP so DH was referred to the urologist. In principle, they should help him but they think we should just go straight to the FS. That's a bad judgement call and now we have to wait until July for the appointment. GPs have very good business here in Australia. All they do is writing referrals. I know that the waiting is the worst............

Sucks you're getting the run around bbhope the first appt wait is the worst (so far thats been our shortest only 4wks) I have voiced my concerns with the FS, the reception and one nurse copped it yesterday when she said its their "policy" not a legal requirement. FFS if you're going to make everyone do it at least be prepared to cope with the appts!!

    Hi wishnhope,

I started at Fert North a couple of years ago and went through the whole process, including the counseling. To be perfectly honest I dont think we got any value from it. I think it is important to be aware of the emotional turmoil ivf has on you but 1 counselling session before you start doesn't really paint the true picture. That clinic has become incredibly busy and I had to constantly follow up and keep them on track in the end. I have changed to FSWA (again, anyone have any feedback on them?). Easier said than done, but try and be patient, ivf tests it big time (especially in the TWW). Perhaps the clinic would consider you sourcing your own counsellor to speed things along? Anyway, hope you all have a good day.
