    Thanks booboo78!

I am at the very start of this journey, so don't know what to expect!
Did it take forever initially from your first appointment before they could suggest how they could treat you?

    Thanks for any info!!

    Hi Pollyrocket,

i just joined this forum, its has helped answer a lot of concerns since our first failed IVF cycle. I also go to FSS. We are about to go through put second IVF attempt. Happy to answer any questions you have. Generally the nurses are fantastic but I wish I did my research more before we started as its been a longer process than we initially thought.

    Best of luck

We had our 1st appt in feb this yr, I remember it taking a few mths to get in, there again, i think due to christmas etc. we then had our 1st IVF cycle in june, we could have started earlier with the cycle but my dh works away, just scheduling in the appts can be a bit hard sometimes. All the testing can be done quite quickly, from what i remember the hsg test i had to have was the only one i had to wait longer for as i couldnt get in at the time.
Hi Spanner80, sorry u had a failed cycle also, i know how hard it is its taken me a while to get over this who do u see at FSS? and when r u starting your 2nd?
We just had a review appt today, $190 later!! Specialist suggested with our next cycle that they will up my med dose of Puregon from 200 to 250, she will also change 1 of the meds from Orgalutran to Synarel (nasal spray), hopefully this will help make more follies (eggs). They also said about adding calcium to the eggs after retrieval, hoping this will help with our fertilisation issues we had last time. I asked about whether I should be on anything to help egg quality and she mentioned either dhea can be taken for 3 mths prior to a cycle or using testosterone gel 1 mth prior to a cycle can help. Do any of you take this dhea?

Hi ladies. Has anyone that is at Pivet been for a review appt on day 21 after failed FET. If so did it cost extra and also what was discussed

Booboo. I've taken DHEA. Some it helps, some it doesn't. I've also seen cases where it seemed to dramatically kick in at 6 months rather than 3. It is a precursor hormone and can help with both egg numbers and quality. I think it is worth a go.
Kelbel,I don't know anything about pivet I'm sorry. I would have thought that a review appt was charged as that, regardless of the day of the cycle and that you would discuss various aspects of the cycle.

Kelbel, I got this from sunshinebell a while back regarding pivet. Hope it helps.

"Also be aware you pay fs fee each day 21 appt. I didn't think they made that clear on consultation.
Also if your cycle fails we made them give us a free follow up appt as they don't contact you and otherwise you dont see anyone untolil your next paid day 21 appt 2cycles later!
No one tells you in the cycle itself day 2-30 your fs appts are included but you never see fs inly nurses. So if you are concerned dont hesitate to make an appt and tell tjem it should be covered. Likewise if cycle is cancelled make a fs appt. No one will suggest ut and I felt thats the time you want to meet and kniw what they have learnt and plan for next time."

Yeh I just wasn't sure. I had a day 21 appt to check everything before my FET and that wasn't charged. But I guess this is different as its a review even tho we are going again next cycle if all is good.

Hi Booboo78, I see Dr Murphy at FSS. my 21day appointment is on Monday and this info you have given me will help me in asking him some questions as to what he is going to suggest to make this time round a little more successful. I know that the chances of conceiving at not 100% but my main disappointment was that they only were able to extract 1 single egg and that I have to go through the entire process again. There are so many threads of people talking about having 5 or more eggs extracted so I wonder what's wrong with me I have never heard of Dhea so I will look into that too. The nurses mentioned that they may look at upping my doses to assist with egg retrieval. This is such an emotional rollercoaster and its just so hard to stay so positive sometimes however the light at the end of the tunnel will be all worth it Good luck with your next IVF round

thanks net3811 will give the DHEA a go, I seem to be hearing more positive than negative replies so worth a try. Took script to pharmacy just waiting for it to be made up, Mon they say, so more waiting, was hoping to get started already. Sorry you went through that Spanner80 I know how hard it is, what meds were u on last time and what dose? How many days did u stim for? I have seen Dr C Nichols but last time Dr Chua as he has been on leave. It really is an emotional rollercoaster thankfully we can support each other, I have found this and also my IVF f/b group so supportive and of course my dh, wouldn't wish this on anyone. All we can do is try, they learn a lot from your 1st cycle also, fx we get much better results next time and a BFP very soon. With the 1 egg they retrieved, what stage did it get to? Gl for Mon, make sure u have questions ready, I find I need to be prepared
