I have my new appointment with dr chapel at fert north. I love the nurses there. - they are very accommodating. And I felt very comfortable with dr chapel.
My first ever fertility clinic meeting was with dr turner. I left his office beside myself. When I left dr chapel I felt like someone was on my side not blaming me. It was a huge difference.

Caketin - I understand the complications with the whole weight and pregnancy issue. But BMI isn't a true indicator of a persons complete health. I don't understand why they are so anal about 0.07 off a BMI of 35. Plus many overweight women get pregnant and have normal pregnancies. I just think it is very deflating to a woman's self esteem when they do this. This is the second time they've done this to me.

    Lu - I've replied.

Butterfly - oh I totally agree! BMI is rediculous, I'm short so apparently I need to be between 45kgs to 55kgs to be in the 'healthy' weight range...there would be nothing of me if I weighed that small amount.

Butterfly - we are about the same height! It's funny now I have a big belly I feel like a pregnant child due to my height (my 9yo niece is almost my height!). And I bought cheap $4 pants to wear at the hospital and I have to take them up lol

I'm with Concept and don't think I've ever been light enough to have a BMI of 35 and they are fine with it. make sure you don't get Dr Mazzuchelli. I've heard he's pretty hard on you being overweight. Be aware with Concept that as they are a cheap clinic with donor sperm, they are very busy and you will get treated like a number. If it helps, I found I had the most success on a high protein diet. I lost 18kg before starting TTC but put on 3-4 kilos each try and have really struggled to lose it again.

If you have full health insurance, i'd recommend Dr Graham Thompson. He is very good at what he does but will only treat patients with full health insurance.

I'm with Dr Ambekar at Concept and never felt like I was a number at all. Even when I was there to see the nurses or for scans and I saw Dr Ambekar she would say hello and ask how we were going. Nurses were all nice to me as well. Yes, they are one of the cheaper clinics in Perth but I chose to go there as they have the payment plan options. I think Dr Ambekar is the specialist King Edward use for people who go public as well.

But I guess everyone's experience is different.

Hi everyone, I'm a Perth IVF'er going through Dr Jequier at Concept, is is my 4th cycle but my first with Dr Jequier. My first three cycles were with Dr Thompson at concept also. I have been treated with fantastic care at concept and I feel that it's got great facilities. I'm due to have my BT on wed (29th May).
I've been having quite a lot of symptoms but trying so hard not to read into them as I'm also on Progynova and Crinone. This cycle just feels so different from the others. Fingers crossed! I really need this time to it! Good luck to all

    Hi Ladies,

Net3811 - I have seen Dr Muzzachelli a long long time ago. Geez you're telling me he's still around? I thought he was ancient back then hehehe. I saw him about 9 years ago and yes he was very harsh. It was just after losing my first born at full term. Basically his answer was lose the weight and you'll conceive. Well guess what? I'm way lighter than I was back then and along the way didn't conceive naturally and still haven't. I'm just not convinced conception is all weight related.

I have thought of either switching to Concept or Fertility North. Fertility North would be a bit of a trek for me as I live SOR.

Any ladies gone to Fertility Specialist South?
