    Default Embarrassing lump

Ahh, I hate being so self conscious.

A few days ago I started getting a small lump at the top of my butt crack, I thought maybe a pimple, now however it is a huge red nasty lump and it kills, it hurts to walk, to sit, to do anything. Being where it is I can't see it very well, but it feels about the size of a maltester (sorry all I can think of).

Other than obviously going to the doctors, which is not an option until Monday after work, what could I do?

I am prone to boils and hoping that it isn't one, but I'm in so much pain right now I just want it gone.

And being a single mum I don't have anyone to check it out for me other than calling my mum over, which I'd prefer not too for obvious reasons.

Sounds like an abscess! I've had them on my thigh and they hurt like a b!tch. It'll need to be drained. Once it's drained, it's a huge relief!

Can you use your phone/camera to take a picture? That way you will have a better idea what you are dealing with.
I'm inclined to say it does sound like a boil though.

    Thanks girls.

Yes I'm leading towards a boil, yay 😣

Just had a hot shower and tried squeezing it and nothing, the whole crack (way TMI) is bright red leading to the lump.

Not sure I can wait until Monday to get it drained though, it's so painful and I work on my feet all day which doesn't help.

Sounds like a perianal abscess. They hurt like a biatch you poor thing

Ichthammol ointment can be found at your chemist. It's a black looking tar. Put it on the boil slathered on and cover with a bandage. Leave for 24-48 hours. It'll come to a head and pop giving you the relief you need. I know as I get these regularly.

The last abscess I had was red around and turned out to be an infection. I ended up in hospital on IV antibiotics. Can you go to your local hospital? My GP sent me straight to the hospital as there was nothing she could do once the infection was there.
