OP, I had a close friend named Jethro all through school and never once did I ever think death row or did I ever hear anyone else make that reference. I quite like both names you have chosen.

My DF is called Collin and I regularly call him that

Jethro reminds me of Beverly Hillbillies, I like Hilda Michelle though

I really like both names, very original. I think of Jethro Tull an old rock band from the 70s (actually I just googled them and they were still going until a couple of years back) Death row never entered my head. But aside from that its a cool name and Jet is a good nn. Hilda is sweet and you hardly hear it at all these days.

While I don't personally like the name Hilda as a first name (I did like your first option with it as a second name) I LOVE the meaning and love and thought that has gone into the name Hilda Michelle and so I think it really does work well!

BUT NCIS? Seriously? My Uncle was named for Donald Duck. Literally. In those days HE was my Grandad's favourite character. He loved his sarcastic wit and his temper tantrums. So my Uncle was named Donald. I never understood how my Nan could allow that to happen. If she had like the name Donald? A different story. Same goes here. If you said Jethro because we just love the name Jethro, then that's great. Or if it were the name of some amazing literary character fine. But NCIS? So I am sorry to say I don't really like your boy's name (Not that I have to either, only you do!!!).

We didnt decide on Jethro only coz DH likes NCIS its just that we heard the name on there & it got us thinking about it & we BOTH do really like it...if we didnt both like it we wouldnt be having it at all.

Jethro to me is an awesome name!!

How the hell does it sound like 'death row'????? I don't get it.

I would use jethro Gibbs though, or jethro Tobias, or jethro Antonio ;-)

Jethro timothy would also be acceptable lol.
