    Question Tape Worm during pregnancy

Anyone have any info on this?

I'm 23 weeks and been surrounded by a litter of pups recently, and today we found one with tapeworm, despite being treated for that already!?

I have asked my midwife and she said she was unsure so I should go see my GP, but the issue is my GP isn't that flash when it comes to some things so I'm not sure I'd trust her knowledge base with this either.

Thought I'd ask here before seeking out someone better to see tomorrow hopefully.

I guess it would be a low risk I may have contracted this, but if I have, is there a safe way to be treated?

I have no advice on the tapeworm but I'd recommend you ask for recommendations on a better doctor to see. Don't leave it. Those things grow quickly.

Dog tapeworm (the long variety not the really short hydatid ones) shouldn't infect humans.

I questioned my DR about worm treatments when pregnant and he said it was a no go.

You can't catch worms from animals unless you eat the feces that are infected and I'm pretty sure unless you have pica you wouldn't have done that. If by chance someone had worms they would have to take a spool sample in pregnant women to be 100%. Bet that's a relief
