Update - after having intralipids yesterday myself and hubby headed nervously off for NT this morning only to discover that the fetus heartbeat had stopped somewhere between last Thursday (heard it in Dr M office) and today. Fetus also measured small but genetics Dr told us he suspects triplody (a partial molar ) where 2 sperm met 1 egg an absolutely random thing and not connected with age. just bad luck apparently!!
Dr M was great and I have already been through a DNC at Hurstville this a afternoon and now resting up at home absolutely emotionally exhausted. We are beyond bad luck, 6 miscarriges and now this for no. 7 and also after having a partial molar I don't know when we will be able to try again, anything up to a year!
what I do want to say is that under Dr M protocol I did manage to carry albeit a fated fetus to almost 12 weeks after never getting past 6 weeks with my previous 6 miscarriages so have fate and hopefully there will be lots more positive stories for the ladies on this board soon. We will be having an enforced break from ttc to conceive but I wish everyone we'll on their journeys and this is a great place for support.
Nidhulaine I am so sorry to hear that. Thinking of you xxx
Sootymay - sorry I can't answer that because I haven't seen Dr M before so not sure how Dr Nick works in that regard. He's pretty good though and his PA and Nurse are awesome and very organised unlike the other lady you're referring to. She would do my head in. 😝
Oh my god nidhulaine I'm sooooo sorry for this bad news!!! :-( this is a very sad time and I wish I could give you a big
Why why why!!!! As if we don't go through enough already! I'm really sorry to hear that.
hopefully you have good family support and you can recover quickly.
my thoughts and prayers are with you.
Nidhulaine- I cannot believe what I just read . I'm devastated for you and your DH... I don't understand how such awful things keep happening to the people who least deserve them . I'm so sorry you've lost another precious angel. Its so unfair that you finally got the right treatment plan and came so far... only to have it snatched away. I hope you have lots of support around you and are being taken good care of. Thinking of you and hope you'll be back here when you're ready to try again xoxo.
Meagsbergs- Hi and welcome! When are you having BT? I hope this cycle finally brings you the BFP you've been waiting for
Stillhope- grrr to still waiting for results! This is beyond ridiculous now and I'm getting angry for you!!
Cappy- There's a list of tests in this thread that are a good starting point, but Dr M still does more. Good luck with your FS appointment! http://www.bubhub.com.au/community/f...k-our-FS-to-do
LittleTed- isn't it great to finally have an explanation! And better still, a solution . I hope your next BFP is just around the corner
Sootymay- sorry I can't help with the Dr L questions. After my initial appointment with Dr M, I went back for a face-to-face follow up to get my results and treatment plan. I had to wait nearly 3 months for the 2nd appointment due to Christmas holidays, but I didn't have time pressures like you do. In your shoes, I'd probably book myself another phone consult and be prepared to pay the $$ again. Its a small cost in the scheme of things but at least you'll get your answers and save some sanity! If you get the answers from Gwyneth in the meantime you could always cancel the phone appt.
LiteFantastic- You must be getting close to 12 wks now? When are you having the NT scan?
Big Hello to everyone else
AFM- DH & I took a trip to visit my in-laws over the weekend. The 13hr drive each way was worth it to see their faces when we told them our news. They had given up hope of us giving them grandchildren and to see them so happy was really touching. I just hope I can hang onto this little one until he/she is safely here... Cappy and Nidhulaine both had losses after seeing heartbeats, so I certainly do not feel safe yet. I'm having my first OB appt on Thurs and hope to get some reassurance there.
Hey can someone help me out with info on autoimmune etc I have had the blood test for nk cells which was normal and also thyroid etc all normal but my immune system has always been crap and every time I do Ivf I get quite sick and then stay sick for months after with cold after cold... Doc says maybe we should go into hospital for additional testing.... What does everyone think?
Hi simpsondessert and thank you very much. I too hope this is the one. Bt is Monday 7th. Congratulations to you! Wow...what a drive. I imagine seeing their faces would have been awesome and worth every second. Stay positive sweet, this is it for you, you will be holding ur little bubs before u kno it 😊
Nattie-I'd say it would be worth doing more testing, maybe with this dr m all the girls are talking about in Sydney. I must say though, I have an autoimmune disease and I never get sick. Maybe once a year if that so that's weird you always get sick after ivf
I would recommend reviewing these threads as there is quite a lot of info from all the girls who've had testing with both their FS and then more extensive testing for immune-specific stuff with Dr Matthias in Sydney. if you're in Sydney it might be worthwhile booking in for an appointment with him if you're thinking it is immune-related, however without knowing your history or results so far it's hard to say. Have you had your Natural Killer Cells tested (both in blood and via uterine biopsy). This is generally the key for diagosis, however there are other indicators such as blood clotting disorders. The book 'Is your body baby friendly' by Dr Alan Beer is another resource you could check out for more immune information.
Nidhulaine - so sorry to read your news today, especially after hearing the HB just last week so devastating.
But as you say, hopefully the Dr M protocol unlocks your immune issues and when you can try again you will have the right steps in place to get your healthy bub.
Take care and keep us posted
