    Hi Little Ted,

Like you I was surprised by high ANA+ reading, but my FS did not put much importance on it. However given you also have FVL it might be worthwhile getting more testing done for Natural Killer Cells and further blood testing by a hematologist. I have two blood clotting issues, high ANAs and these combined may indicate you have a higher change of having elevated or more aggressive NKC.

I would recommend reading Alan Beer's book 'Is your body baby friendly?', when I read that it was like ticking off a list of all the things that I had which
my FS didn't believe in despite our diagnosis of "unexplained infertility".

    Good luck and lots of

    Hi Hummingbird,

Definitely! I'm one of those people who never get sick, even when DH is struck down I'm still healthy. Lived in the UK for 2 years and never got a cold, have only had food poisoning once in my life ( thanks China Southern airlines!).

I always thought it was strange too.... Not sure if there's a definitive link, but certainly true in my case.

I've had countless chemical pregnancies which got me thinking that my body was seeing the implanting embryo as a 'foreign' body and killed it off. Testing showed normal levels of NKC, but highly active. Steroids and intrallipids calm these down and let your little emby implant without kicking off the immune reaction.

    Hi Ladies
I hope everyone is trucking along with their plans andresearch.
Sorry this is going to be a bit of a long one, but I knowa lot of you are under Dr Matthias and some have seen Dr Lolatgis here in Melbfor intralips treatment.
My final bloods that Dr M wanted, came back Friday.. soI'm going to call Gwyneth today & try and get a time frame on when DrMatthias will get back to me.

Question time....Does anyone know what usually happens now? Is he quite on theball where he will call me as soon as he has them all?

Does he receive the results by mail as well or electronically or on a websitethat he has access to ? (I'm factoring in that sometimes mail takes awhile toget out of Melbourne and into other states for some crazy reason).... Or, do Ineed to chase Gwyneth up & make another appointment? Will I get chargedanother $300 for a phone consult?

I'm asking all these questions, as I just looked at the calendar and we've onlygot 5 weeks to go before we leave !!

I did pencil book an appointment with Dr Lolatgis here in Melbourne (who doesintralipids) for 16th October (that was the earliest I could get in - which is2 1/2 weeks before we leave.... and of course that's an initial consult, he maynot just organise that for me on the spot if it's recommended by Dr M?

...Does anyone know once you've seen him (Dr L) initially, how long it takes toget back into him? I heard somewhere that after the initial appointment, thatwhen you book in for intralipids that the receptionist can organise it, and setit up with the nurses.... you don't need to see him again?

Also - last question.... does anyone know if he's happy working with Dr M, orfollowing his recommendations?

Sorry for all the questions... I just want to be prepared, with time creepingup on us quite quickly now.

Hi Sootymay, I can't answer all of it but some. Firstly, so far I paid only once the 300 dollars for dr.m. I was talking twice to him but waiting for another chat. Didn't get told for more money. The first few tests I had to wait 4 weeks. And no Gwyneth wouldn't call me! I rang her nearly every day after 2 weeks. Now again I'm waiting for 3 weeks for a thyroid test to be back and still nothing. I also asked Gwyneth to send me my blood results 2 weeks ago, so I can bring it to dr. L, but even they didn't arrive yet. I asked her again last week, so I'll see if I get them this week. I guess if you want some answers you have to ring constantly even it feels annoying (to me it does) but other ways you wait for ever. I have only a few days left of my drug and need more which I told Gwyneth, but she just said oh yes.
im a bit frustrated as everything takes for ever. My appointment with dr.L is 21 oct. Which was made 3 month ago!!!! So my patients gets proven!! I heard he is open with immune treatment but I don't think he would interfere with dr ms treatment.

gwyneth told me twice she will ring the pathology in Melbourne as they take so long, but it seems like they send it per post and not per fax or email which I find a bit weard.

good luck and keep on ringing!!

Hi Stillhope - thanks so much for getting back to me so quickly. You know I can't help but feel your frustration and my own experiences reading about Gwyneth. What is it with that woman? Honestly - I don't mean to be rude... and I am the same, I feel like I am been annoying - but it's not on. I wonder if Dr M realises she is so slack with "his" patients? I'd be tempted to say something, but then I wouldn't want to get Dr M off side... but it's just so frustrating, and makes you quite angry in the end. I wonder if I sent a letter to his rooms pointing out the time delays and how a number of us felt the same, and if she opened it... if she would get the message? Once again, its such a catch 22 situation. You feel like you don't want to rock the boat, as at the end of the day it is about personal relationships, so you keep your mouth zipped and put up with it. But... golly when we are paying thousands / hundreds of dollars for a service, we really expect that service. Just makes me wonder if he has any idea... or how the messages even get through to him??? Whinge over.... for now....

:-) I just rang her again, but I think she gets us all mixed up. I told her I was waiting since 3 weeks for results and she kept on saying that my last test was just days ago!!!
Well, I told her it's urgent and she "will ring me back" she said.......

she he is a very nice lady, but my feeling is she is a bit confused with so many of us to look after :-)

    Hi sooty may
I can help you out with dr nick. You will see him and then he will have his pa and nurse organise intralipids in his rooms or downstairs so don't stress about that, it will work out ok xx

Gore blimey.... ! Bang your head on a wall alright - I think I'd almost be driven to tears if that kept going on. I just rang her too at lunch time and I do agree, she is really quite a nice lady - thank goodness for that, imagine if she was a unfriendly cow on top of it.... So I've tried to plant the seed again... but seems she keeps forgetting to tend to them!! - as unfortunately she doesn't seem react much faster than a snails pace. She did say to me that she is at another location today, so was diverting the phones to there & hadn't seen my email THIS MORNING !!!....maybe that's half the problem - if that's a regular occurrence? (Sorry Bub Hub wont let me put lines in here....!) - She said she'll check later this afternoon (I assume when she gets back to her normal work place) and will pass onto the Doctor this afternoon and wait for it.... "If I don't call you back, would you mind calling me in the morning?" Sure thing.... I don't mind calling you at all & I was planning on it - bless her !!!!!! She was really nice.... I try to stay bright and chirpy and butter her up a bit - something I'm not used to doing, but figure I need this one on my side more than anything, to get things done. I keep telling her - and again today. "We're flying out in 5 weeks, I'm starting to stress. If I need Intralipids treatment, I'll need to get onto it with another doctor here - THE ONLY one that does it in Melbourne" etc etc... to try and rev up her engine abit.... All she keeps saying, is "don't worry, we'll get it sorted for you in time" mmmh I cant help but think... if we continue at this pace we may not. Sooooooooooooooo I am going to keep onto her - keep been nice and keep saying in every single conversation "we are flying out to SA in less than 5 weeks - even if I feel like a broken down record player... its got to be done! If the politicians can do it - so can I, we all can.
