Yes, lissyloulou is actually in Brisbane too. He is not that expensive imo, first consult was $300, then I had a laparoscopy/hysteroscopy/uterine biopsy which was 650. Then I've had one appt to go through my results and get my treatment plan which was $150. I think some of the blood tests weren't covered by Medicare but it was maybe $200 in total? The USA tests are expensive but I think he only does them if he really needs to.
I am on 20mg prednisolone, clexane and 800mg progesterone plus intralipid infusions every 4 weeks for the first trimester, then he will do blood tests to see if any more need to be done. I get weekly hcg and progesterone bloods through my gp and dr m then checks them and advises of any medication changes free of charge. The intralipids are $650 each time and we have to stay in hosp overnight so you may have an excess. Are you doing ivf? Lissyloulou sees wazza in Brisbane for that and dr m for the immunology side and I believe her intralipids are free as they are included in the ivf cycle costs? I guess if you need to come to Sydney every time it will add up but so worth it IMO! Compared to my fs who had me on 200mg of progesterone and said there was nothing further she could do for me, I feel so much better, he is proactive but he will also tell you if he can't help, it's not just a moneymaking thing

Ok, thanks for breaking that down for me! I will talk it over with DF.

Are those prices before or after Medicare rebate? Or is it not covered? Sorry I'm totally clueless as I've not had any private care ever before.

I'm not doing IVF as yet. I'm hoping it won't be necessary as we get pregnant very easily it's just that we loose them all

Do you have a website for Dr Matthias at all?

Thank you for all your help.

Again same as me we haven't done ivf yet either. The consults are before Medicare rebate, the surgery and the intralipids don't attract a rebate. I don't think he has a website per se but his bio is shown on the kareena private hospital page, dr gamal Matthias. He doesn't need a website as he has all of us advertising for him!

Can I ask what level your ana were? Mine were 1:1280 and he said that is an indicator that something else is wrong on the immune side

Hi all, I'm back on the merry go round! AF came early, day 23. Just as well already had appt with Dr m, saw him this afternoon. Protocol is similar except for increased dose of dexamethasone- 2mg/day instead of 1.5mg, starting tomorrow.also now on progynova: 1 tablet x 3 per day. Intralipid booked for this Sunday. Then clexane after iui and progesterone 3 days before iui. Well do another iui cycle same a last time, not Ivf.

One love: the prices quoted by time are before MC rebates. Some things have rebates and others don't. Eg. Appointment today is claimable, $150.

Great to hear all the good news on this thread!

My ANA levels have not been as high as yours BUT the doctors have not been proactive in checking them so the readings have been many weeks post miscarriage and in the very early stages of pregnancy. I think if I'd been tested immediately post loss they would have read higher? as when I'm not pregnant or post-miscarriage they are negative. The levels have been 1:160 but as I said could have been higher.

I've read a lot of info on Dr Braverman's (US reproductive immunologist) website and have emailed him and he did say it was significant... but now you've mentioned your levels, mine seem rather insignificant!

You gals deserve a wage off Dr M lol doing very well at drumming up clients! I just hope DF doesn't scoff at the $$$ that are involved
