I've got bladder and bowel issues so public toilets are a blessing for me. But one is that horrible ill try my best to hold on or try another one. I have wipes with me to disinfect seats with too.

I also work at a small call centre and definitely don't start work without wiping everything down even if I'm at the same desk the next day. Ppl come to work sick and sometimes it can take 2 weeks for a cold or surface.

Vicpark won't training ur son to only do no2 ay home be confusing for him?? What if ur at someone else's house. What if he can't hold on??

On a side note some mums that use those toilets in parents rooms don't bother flushing or even making sure it's clean once they leave. It's disturbing!

I think it's just more comfortable for me to sit down properly when I'm busting, when I hover there is a certain element of control required. If I've been busting and had to hover then I don't think I finish properly and usually need to go again pretty soon after.

Poo bum. Dirty footpath. Can't say that I think one is worse than the other. I'd be more concerned about injury from glass etc, but dirtier? Dunno about that. Much of a muchness, I would have thought.

My DD was just over 2 when we went to Bali. I left her with DH whilst I went shopping....came back to a mortified DH who refused to ever take her to the toilet again....after she used the loo he turned his back to flush and she was washing her hands in the urinal
I was the anal one with sanitizer and the only one to get sick!

I wasn't *really* serious. I mean if poo-training like that was easy yeah I'd try but I don't think it's workable.

As for what I'm going to do... Keep a stack of cleaning wipes in my hand bag!

I had a friend who only pooed in her own toilet. She went to Poland to visit family for a month (come on, surely family's home toilets are ok?!), and pretty much hung on as best she could the whole time. One seriously impacted bowel later, she finally got home and I can only imagine felt a huge sense of relief as she worked through the backlog.

It's not good for you to hang on to waste! I also get the same problem if I try to hover, I don't empty properly.

I certainly am careful to keep cooking areas clean, wash hands after the toilet and before eating/hands to mouth etc, but other than that i'm pretty relaxed about it all. I have never gotten Bali belly either and eaten all sorts of pretty dodgy street food, always wondered if there was a link...

We're covered in germs. All parts of us are teeming with the things! I just don't have the mental energy to worry about germs as well as everything else, it must be tiring!

I am just trying to picture this poor disease-ridden kid, at home now covered in glass, spit and blood...all because he was on the concrete for a few minutes
