My friend was going to use Violetta which is a nice alternative to viola?

I like both Ava Melita and Ava Viola, but viola has a bit more punch to it given the individuality of the name.

I prefer viola. I think it's very special to use a name with meaning.

I actually prefer Melita. But only because of having to listen to the viola too often. Not my favourite instrument any more! I LOVE the name Violet though!!!!

thanks for all your opinions our surname doesnt flow well with just one middle name and in our familly its tradition to have 2... Haha its one of the traditions i actually like. Both names flow well with our surname but after seeing the responses... Particularly sassy's, i think we will go with viola. haha. sassy kinda ruined melita for me

dh isnt budging anyway. He Loves viola cos its a namme from his favourite shakesperian (sp?) play and obviously cos of my sister. Thanks for all the input

I love Melita and the first thought that comes to mind is Spartacus: Gods of the Arena. It was the name of Oenomaus's wife. It certainly doesn't make me think engine oil lol!

I really think Viola is a pretty name and Ava Viola Rose flows really well!
This may sound silly but the first thing that came to mind with Melita was Diabetes Mellitus.

Ha! I thought of Spartacus too. I prefer the way Melita sounds with the other two names, but it sounds like you've already made up your mind
