Ds2 was admitted to hospital today.
He has not been eating for almost two weeks but was drinking his fortini (medical formula).
He stopped drinking that a few days ago and last night started to throw up everything!
So I spent the whole day at the hospital and gp trying to get someone to see him. They finally put in a gastric tube and we're going to move us to a ward. An hour and a half later still had not done anything and he managed to pull out the tube. I was yelling for help for 5 Min before he got it out. No one! They turned up to late and said they couldn't put it back in without a paediatrician. But wouldn't transfer us to get to one (2 hours away).
I'll have to come back and update. He is miserable.

Not good but they were not helping at all. We left with them keeping the admission open. If he gets worse we can go back but they still can't help. But we will go back in the morning and they will transfer him then. He is still not himself but he is more settled in his own space. I have been able to get him to drink a little bit of juice but it didn't stay in long. I can't wait for the morning. I'm so tired of being told they don't know! He has lost over a kg again.

What an awful thing to be going through, your poor little man I hope they transfer him, sounds like he needs a specialist - and they obviously don't have any ideas at the hospital you are already going to.

Our kids are nearly same age.
Are you close to hospital? Did you come home with ng tube in?
Perhaps he'll rest and wake up feeling a bit better? ?
My dd drinks pediasure. ... I think she's tolerates it quite well.
Did Dr's give you any idea what's wrong? Any idea why he stopped drinking his fortrini?

We have a few ideas but nothing confirmed.
Daycare moved him to the over 2s a few weeks ago and he got constipated because he can't break down the food to pass it. So he got a full and sore tummy. That was the start of this whole thing. He stopped eating and had nothing but liquid to pass. He has not eaten since and a few days ago refused his formula then started to throw up. Refusing to drink either. So not sure. What to do.
He pulled out the ng tube. They wouldn't put it back in without a pead though.

Did you get any further with a diagnosis?
If there are any sensory aversions present the ng insertion will not help with him getting over them. I've been there. DD well refuse food and pediasure for days on end. Our paed will not do ng tubes as it's puts us further back.
Though I know this isn't always an option especially if he's vomiting too. Dehydration isn't fun.
Poor thing. Sounds like there's a lot going on. Having no answers is not fun.

No we didn't get any further information on what is wrong but he is to young to get an asd diagnosis where we are. They won't really test till they are 5. But still that should not have stored the pead testing for digestive issues. He is just a **** pead. I have been trying to get another one but it's slow here. I'm off to bed now while he is still settled. But I'll update when I have more news.
