Hi ladies, I have this procedure booked in to be done on 6 June, so thanks for posting the details blondeinbrisvegas. After reading how painful it was, I am thankful now that mine is being done under a GA.

Blondeinbrisvegas, sounds like you are doing the same type of cycle as me, but you are a couple of weeks ahead, so hope you don't mind but I may stalk you for a bit to see how everything is going.

    Goo luck

    Hi Hope06

Yes love, feel free to stalk me..... I'll be posting regularly on my other thread (AACEP Protocol) if you want to follow me there....or here works fine too God, how I wish I'd had the option (and the money if I'm being honest) to have those procedures done under GA. My FS said as I was leaving "You're one tough lady"...Whatev's!!! Was just glad it was over and done with!!!

I'm on CD 20 today, so am just waiting for AF to arrive then it's on to Phase II of the protocol which is going to be pretty full-on not just in terms of how many drugs I'll be taking/injecting, but also the amounts too (for eg 600 IU of Menopur when the most I've ever taken in the past 3 cycles was 300IU of Gonal-F) but I'll suck it (and all the side-effects I'm bound to have) up in the hope that all this will lead to a BFP

Other than that, I'm feeling fine now although I'm still spotting but it's barely there (only when I go to the toilet....sorry if TMI) Make sure you post your experiences on here too Hope......Will be interested to see how you pull up afterwards Good luck to you girl!!!....I can see from your signature you and your DH have been through the wringer!!! Is that 18 full stimulated cycles you have done so far??? Jaysus!!!! That's dedication allright!!! Will be keeping my this procedure gives you and your DH a sticky BFP!!! Good luck luv!!!!!

Hi blondeinbrisvegas which fs rooms did you have this done at and what was the costs involved.

Does the scratch and the flush have to completed at a certain point in your cycle.

    Thanks

    Hi Twiglets.......
I had the procedures performed on CD 17 in Dr Warren De Ambrosis's rooms in the city. I paid $129 for the Lipiodol solution from the pharmacy downstairs and I'm pretty sure I'm having the procedure bulk-billed because of special circumstances so am uncertain as to the cost (some other ladies out there who've had it done might know??), but a phone call to his rooms should tell you.

In regards to when to have these procedure's done, according to an article I was given to read from WDA about the scratch biopsy it says...and I quote....."The current thinking on timing seems to be with IVF, the scratch biopsy needs to be done once or possibly twice in the cycle prior to embryo transfer...the cycle before gonadotrophin stimulation. Or in the spontaneous cycle before commencing estradiol for a frozen transfer"

As for the Lipiodol Flush, the data from a study I was given to read suggests "that the highest likelihood of pregnancy occurs in the first 3 or 4 cycles following the procedure, although the precise duration of the fertility-enhancing effect of Lipoidol remains uncertain" which explains why you have both precedures done at the same time

Good luck to you girl.....we can only try these things and hope for the best If you decide to have these procedures done, let us know how you get on.....

    Hi All.....

Woke up to AF this morning......No difference in terms of flow. Is just as heavy as a normal period for me at this stage. However, is far less painful. Usually I have to pump myself full of painkillers on Day 1 but the pain is very mild...so mild in fact, that I haven't taken any painkillers whatsoever!!! Am not sure if I can attribute this to the procedure's I had done or the fact this is a withdrawal bleed from the OCP I stopped 2 days ago???? Either way, I'm happy!!!!!

Off to FS's office tomorrow for CD2 scan and to pick up meds and start jabbing!!! Here we go......................

Hope everyone else is travelling along nicely.....

Hi blondeinbrisvegas, hope all is going well for you and that you are not getting too many side effects from l the meds. I am having my procedure done under a GA as I have had endometriosis in the past so FS wants to make sure that if any has grown back that its all taken care of before I start stimming. I also have a cyst on my ovary that needs taking care of, so figured they may as well do everything under a GA all at once. Yes unfortunately we have done 18 fully stimulated cycles but we have recently discovered I have immune issues and we have never done a Cycle with immune treatment, so are hoping that this type of cycle along with the immune treatment will get us over the line. Good luck, I am looking forward to seeing how you go this cycle. Fingers crossed for your BFP. You are in great hands with the wonderful Wazza

    Hi Hope06.....

I'm on CD4 today and all going well so far thanks love Have had a few side-effects but nothing too major thus far thank God, though I'm expecting to really be feeling it (the bloating, tiredness, teariness etc from the FSH) by the end of the week. Am not sure if you've read the AACEP thread that I started, but there's a more comprehensive rundown where I'm at and what I'm experiencing over there.....Yep, better for you to go right under so they can sort all of that stuff out in one hit

for you too girl that this immune treatment will do the trick. I wouldn't be surprised if that was the reason why you and your DH have had such a battle to go through so far. The results are really promising too from what I've read from other ladies who have been treated...I wish you and your DH an abundance of for your upcoming cycle. Will be making sure I keep my eagle eye's open for your posts love I'm also keen to see how you get on When do you think you'll be starting you next cycle and are you still with WDA or did you have to go to a FS that specialises in immune issues??

Yep, I've got every confidence in WDA, but as all of us know who are in this game, there's no guarantee's (if there was, there'd be a 100% success rate). As I said before, we can only try all the procedure's/protocols (within reason/financial ability) and hope for the best........My next appointment with him is on Fri to check out if my ovaries are playing the game Will report back then (prob on the other thread) on progress. Quite possible I'll be having EPU the same day as your procedures.......

    Hi Emski.....

Your welcome love.... Just to update further....my AF although no different in terms of flow, was shorter than normal. Mine usually last all up for 5 days, but I awoke to some light staining on CD3 and that was the end of it.....Not sure if it was because of the procedures or the fact I'd started jabbing the day before....Anyhoo, good luck to you love. Hope all goes well (and I can't see why it wouldn't) Hope these procedures go on to give you a BFP!!! Let us know how you get on afterwards. Would be good to compare notes!!!

Copius amounts of to you sweetie.....xo
