I hope you feel better soon jb23! Thanks for the kind words.
You are doing a great job! Everyone is!
FlipFlop - I've had a look at the yummy mummy smoothies on the lose the baby weight website. Do you just get the smoothie powder or did get a whole weightloss plan (with the book etc)?
jb23 - hope you feel better soon. DH has a massive tub of protein powder that I wanted to use to make protein balls, so good to hear you've used it without any issues. Great advice re the scales, I have also taken measurements and will take them again soon to compare and see if I'm losing cm.
I have had such a sh!tty afternoon. Left the lights on and drained the car battery and had to wait 1.5 hours with a cranky baby for RACQ to jump start me, then had to drive home at a snails pace because of horrific weather! I got home absolutely starving as I'd only had 1 boiled egg all day, but have managed to resist the urge to binge.
Hi all, you guys are having an awesome week, except the car incident decemberbubba. What a hassle, and it always happens at the most inopportune moments...
I've been quiter than usual the past few days- was feeling like a mixed week for me- it was great because I have had a few social occasions, like lunch out and meeting up with friends, which I needed. And I have kept up my exercise. But, the food side of things has become a little slack.
I did weigh in this morning- at 62.0kg. I haven't weighed that low for a long time, and I feel like I am getting physically stronger, which was a big motivation for me doing this challenge. My physio suggested dropping some weight and trying to improve my core strength- my back and pelvis are not sore now from day to day- a major breakthrough!!!
My DD is turning 1 in July and I feel like that will be a milestone to put the pain of pregnancy and the aftermath behind me. I was bedridden for most of it. I want to move on!
Anyway, a bit of a long post for me today. Have a great day and thanks again for support!
littleriv - you might not have had a great week food-wise, but life is all about balance isn't it, so it's great you were able to catch up with friends - and food is such a social thing aswell . It's so great you feel stronger already. Once I'm back to goal weight I want to really focus on getting fit again.
I've had a good couple of days, I've really upped my protein and lowered carbs (mainly just bread/ pasta etc) and I'm feeling really good for it. My new favourite snacks are a boiled egg with hommus on top or choc protein balls....yummmmmm. Hope eveyone has a great weekend.
Decemberbubba, yes, I am hoping this week is not so much about weight loss for me, but a bit of a balance and not totally blowing out and putting lots of weight back on. I have kept exercise up, so there is another positive! I love boiled eggs too, I sprinkle cumin seeds and coriander on mine. Have a great weekend.
I haven't updated for a couple of days, but I'm very happy to say that I've stayed on track all week. Last night I did have a bit of a dodgey dinner- chicken nuggets... followed by a bowl of corn flakes with full milk and sugar ... but, I'll consider it my "naughty" treat for the week. Not too bad, it could have been much worse I guess.
I'm still on the fat blaster shakes and have eaten all my meals around them which has been great structure for me- haven't had to worry about blow outs as I've had the shakes for breakfast, lunch and afternoon snack all week- this has just left me with a healthy mid morning snack and healthy dinner to worry about. I really love meals like grilled chicken and salad for dinner anyway, so it hasn't been hard for me to keep at it. I finish the last of my shakes tomorrow and will have a break from them for a few days and then buy some more mid week.
The weather has been rainy here in Melb today so no outdoor exercise; I did spend the morning shopping so at least I walked about for an hour. Yesterday I walked with DD in the pram for 45 minutes.
Today so far I've had my 2 shakes and 2 corn thins topped with cottage cheese, cucumber and tomato. For dinner I'm making a lamb madras curry with brown rice on the side and salad. Yarm!

Okay, in anticipation of starting the new week, I made a batch of 'green soup' and have portioned it off and popped it in the freezer for next week.
In a few drops of olive oil, i slow heated some chopped spring onions and 2 cloves of garlic, then threw in a bunch of chopped brocoli, chopped zuchini, chopped yellow squash, chopped coriander, a whole bag of baby spinach leaves, 4 cups of water (with a vegetable jelly stock), cooked for 15 mins til soft then blitzed it with stick blender)- it is super green and tastes great. I love soup! Jazz it up with some chopped mint and a dollop of natural yoghurt.
