Little Ted the hospital has not put me in contact with EPAS just the MFMU.
How do I get in contact with them?

I was never put into contact with EPAS or MFMU....what are they? I was never put into contact with anyone with either loss. Is it a public health thing? Maybe I haven't been told of anything because I am with a private fertility specialist?

No I was only put into contact with a social worker after my 1st m/c. The MFMU is the maternal foetal medical unit. Its at the John Hunter Hospital. I would of thought support would be better with private than public but either way the support is definitely lacking in my opinion.

I found I was never able to get through to the MFMU when I needed to and they never returned a call when I left messages.

    EPAS: 49 855 031
They close fairly early in the afternoon - I think their last appt is 3pm, but one of the ladies when I called last time chased me instead of me chasing them and I was in that afternoon after a scan to get things moving.

Just went and retrieved my folder for info - there is also a social work department up there, I wish I could scan info up. Their number is 49213000 and they have a women's health team. They can also refer you onto someone more applicable if necessary.

SIDs and kids also have a trained bereavement counsellor 49693171.

There is a whole page of support numbers in addition to these. I have no idea why they haven't looked after you and cared for you properly especially as the choice to have more children has been taken out of your hands now and will also be a difficult thing to work through, let alone the loss of another baby.

    Thinking of you x.

Thank you so much for your help and support. I will give those numbers a call.
I just spoke to the mfmu and I have to go in tomorrow at 8.30am for a d&c. They said I could go up and get another couple of tablets and see if they help but what is the point going through the immense pain again if it doesn't work.

Mum of princess, ladydee, I am so sorry about your miscarriage. I had a mmc about 6 weeks ago now. Had a d&c a couple days after the scan that indicated no heartbeat. I thought I was fine a week later. I was quite positive. Looking forward to the next pregnancy when it happens. 4 weeks down the track, I was really angry. I had a delayed reaction. I was angry that it took us so long to fall pregnant, couple of IVF rounds only to miscarriage.

I finally called PLA. The counsellor was good. She said what I was feeling is expected and normal. She also told me while DH and I are in together, I'm also in it alone. That makes perfect sense as I feel so lonely. I was wondering why DH could be positive and I had my ups and downs.

Try PLA. They even sent a little teddy bear which was really cute.

I am feeling much better now. I started exercising a lot again which has helped me a lot.

I hope you feel much better with time

Thank you so much for sharing your story mini. I feel completely lost and confused by my lack of emotion. Maybe a delayed reaction too. I will give PLA a call. I was looking at their site today but couldn't bring myself to call them.

Thanks @Minib and I'm very sorry about your loss also . It does give me a little hope to read that you are doing better xx
PLA is also something I've never heard of? I tried Googling but couldn't see what it might be? I was never given any info post either M/C or D&C apart from infection symptoms to be wary of.

I feel like I might be heading the same way as you with a delayed reaction and am finding (at 2 weeks post D&C tomorrow) that I am feeling worse as time goes by in instead of better. I feel like I could maybe get through the loss after some time but the thought of more drugs, monitoring, injections, side-affects and emotional ups and downs to come with IVF is just too unbearable for me to even think of. I really started to breathe a sigh of relief that all of that nightmare was finally behind me......twice in a row!! And yet, here I am facing it all again. I have PCOS and really should be starting my Metformin again as the longer I'm on it, the better it seems to work but....I just can't bear it! I've just had enough of all of that infertility sh## and I have zero positivity left to see me through it If only the alternative of just giving up wasn't so darn scary.... Whyyyy does it have to be SO difficult to fall pregnant in the first place before even starting the whole new stress of wether or not I'll lose yet another? SO over thinking about and feeling like this
