    Default Masterchef-sexist much?

Is anyone else put off by the ads for the next season of Masterchef being advertised? It seems like they are trying to jam as many gender stereotypes as they can into the ads so far- pink vs blue, men belong in sheds, women can't cook with beer etc
    Thoughts?

I know this probably won't be the general consensus, but I'm actually looking forward to it.

Yes, they have every stereotype ever in the ads, but I think it will be fun for a laugh.

Yes I have found myself yelling at the TV, and I am a big fan of Master Chef too, but it is really turning me off it.

Yeah, I always enjoyed it because its basically food p0rn!
But the stereotyping is ridiculous. I'm sure it's meant as a bit of fun, but surely it's time we moved past such outdated notions?

Yeah i thought it was bad too. Especially since what the men say about the women is actually offensive but the womens put downs for the men are p1ss weak fluff.

I am really hoping I can get past the adds and watch the show, but if they continue with the comments through the show I won't be able to watch it.

Oh totes, I have nothing against pink trolleys. I like pink! But I like pink for everyone, not just girls. Hell, Matt Preston rocks a pink cravat! I guess I'm disappointed they've chosen to reinforce gender stereotypes at all. And I know what you mean re what the men are saying vs what the women say- it reminded me of this interview with Robert DowneyJr and Scarlett Johannsen:

Reporter: “I have a question to Robert and to Scarlett. Firstly to Robert, throughout Iron Man 1 and 2, Tony Stark started off as a very egotistical character but learns how to fight as a team. And so how did you approach this role, bearing in mind that kind of maturity as a human being when it comes to the Tony Stark character, and did you learn anything throughout the three movies that you made?

“And to Scarlett, to get into shape for Black Widow did you have anything special to do in terms of the diet, like did you have to eat any specific food, or that sort of thing?”

Scarlett: “How come you get the really interesting existential question, and I get the like, “rabbit food” question?”

Those adds make me stabby! I love masterchef but I don't know that I'll be able to get through a season of that sort of bullpoo.
