I took cd1 and stopped at O as I had side effects from it ( nausea, tender breasts, mood swings)

I take it after AF stops as it gives me bad clotting, right through until 2 days before AF is due then I stop. The vitex makes you produce progesterone which can hold off your period.

Monkey I'm taking vitex as part of a herbal formula from my naturopath. Can't remember what time in my cycle I started taking it (was a few months ago now). I take it all the way through my cycle. Not sure how much vitex I'm taking though - it's one of about 5 herbs in the formula and I'm taking 7.5 mls each morning & night. So it might be a lower dosage than taking the tablets, I guess is what I'm saying.

I take vitamin b6 only as my cycles were regular but short and so far my luteal phase increased by 2 days from 25 days to 27 after using for 1 month..

I don't think I had withdrawals but I had constant migraines while on b6 and vitex so I stopped them.

    Hi All,

New to this thread but I'd like to know if it's safe to start vitex when you're waiting for a miscarriage? I was successful with an IVF cycle however had a scan today and baby's heart has stopped. I'm 9+1. I'm basically playing the waiting game with the bleeding.

I have roughly 23 day cycles. When is it a good idea to start on vitex? Should I wait til I start bleeding? Or wait til bleeding stops? Any advice?

I'm sorry for your loss don't quote me ( as its been over a year) but I think you're not meant to take it when you're pregnant so I'm not sure what reaction it will have in your unfortunate circumstance, bumping incase someone else knows answer.

    Hi

Thank you. I've read different threads about vitex and many have different times when they take it and stop it. At the moment I'm waiting for my hormones to come down so I can let my body take its course to bleed as I don't want to have a d&c. I have low AMH and would like to give the vitex a shot. Just want to know when to start it and if any particular brand is better?
