    Default 12 week scan/bloods

Hello going public this time and regretting it as not getting the support I felt during the first pregnancy.
anyway saw my Gp who did the referral for the 12 week Nt scan and said they would organise the blood test.
I thought this was suppose to be done at 10 wks, so will it make any difference having it afterwards??
Im not seeing my gp ob until June 4th.

    Also thrush question!
Used a 3day canisten cream and still not good. Gp said ask pharmacy so I'm trying nilstat cream now. Is it worth going the yogurt douche?
    Thanks

    Congratulations!

With both of my pregnancies I have had the blood test the same day I had the scan done, it hasn't been a problem with my midwife or the scan place. I think they do recommend from 10weeks for the blood test & from 12weeks for the scan.

In relation to the thrush, i never had it with my 1st pregnancy but this time around I have had it 3-4times! I Used the 3 day treatment with no relief! So the chemist told me to use Canasten 6 (or 7) day treatment with the pessary. You use the pessary on the 1st night & the cream a couple of times a day =) worked a treat! Was only told when you use the pessary to not put it all the way in, as you would when not pregnant. To only put it in a few cm's =)

    Hi Lisa

I am also going public and have been referred for my 12 week scan/bloods. I am having them at 13 weeks as DP is overseas until then. My GP and the Ultrasound place said up to 13 weeks and 5 days is fine to have the scan but ideally you want it in the 12th week.

    Hope this helps!

Hi Lisa, congrats on your pregnancy!

Not sure about the testing, but I do have experience using yogurt to cure thrush. Almost 10 years ago, I had serious thrush problems!! Would get them every few months, and then it got to the point I had an ongoing infection....used creams, pills - nothing would work and it was driving me absolutely mental! The last dr I saw suggested yogurt. But eating it, and using it (plain) externally. Was v. messy! And didn't quite use it as a "douche", only inserted it a cm or so. Only took a couple of times using it and thrush disappeared.....and to this day have not had another infection! Mind you I try to eat yogurt pretty regularly, but still I'm pretty impressed. Wish I had of known about it sooner

    Good luck
