Another 8 week Perthy with a Christmas baby on board - 21/12! We haven't had a scan yet, waiting til 12 weeks.

Taylormade, I have 2 friends that delivered at Swan Districts (natural births) and both times I visited it was nice & quiet. They only ever shared with 1 other person in their room. You'll be fine.

    IVF CONCEIVERS ...
how long does your clinic oversee you for? Are you seeing gp or ob now or after ivf care plan?
Are your scans through ivf clinic or you arranging through preg carer?

Also love to know those who did ivf without private cover, what should I be arranging now during this trimester... ? im six weeks.

8yrs ttc and with all that difficulty I really dont know what im doing during this time.!! Because its hush hush im counting on you lovely ladies to steer me in right direction, I cant ask family or friends.

    Thanks

Big congrats Sunshinebell! I love hearing of the BFPs after such a journey. It took us just over a year to fall naturally and that seemed like an awfully long time, so can't imagine what you've been through.

Mercy for us Lolly. It was quite overwhelming having to book the OB & decide a hospital at week 5! Wasn't expecting that! I really want a water birth but also want the safety net of being able to stay in hospital a little longer (our 1st) so going private.

Hi to all the newbies and welcome.

Sunshinebell, while I wasn't an IVF conceiver, I was under the care of a FS. They tracked my pregnancy until last week (7th week) and then they passed me on to my OB (after the scan is done to confirm everything is ok). My understanding is that different clinics have different timeframes, I'm with Fertility Specialists South. For me, I personally now have a gap of no specialist care between 6w4d and 9w5d although I have an ultrasound booked next week and the report will be sent to the new OB who I'll only see on 31 May.

I have private health cover but again, not an IVf conceiver and despite my private health cover, we're considerably out of pocket for all expenses.

    Hope this helps.

Any Perth Mums to be in their first trimester 6 weeks - 14 weeks wanting to volunteer for an ultrasound course for country GP's at KEMH? If you're interested, let me know & I'll pass on the details. I got referred to it by my OB's office this morning and they asked me to put the word out. Next course is Sat 26 May. Sessions go for an hour at the following times (you have to be there a bit earlier) start at 9.30am, 11.15am and 1.30pm.

There's no cost involved and no reporting but you get to see your little one and if there are any 'issues' identified, they'll let your OB know.

PM me if you want to know more.

Is it a one-off mymiraclebubba? I'm always interested in taking part in learning opportunities, but I've already offered to take part in a UWA study and am in the process of signing up with a student midwife, so I'm worried about taking on too many things!

I do really like the idea of using my pregnancy as a learning opportunity for people other than just DH & myself. I'm a very need-to-know-how-everything-works type of person, and I've always been interested in human biology (I think humans are fascinating!). So these types of things appeal to my curious nature. It makes me feel good about helping other people out too

I also google things all the time, like I'll be watching TV and think "whatever happened to that person?" so I just google them and read about their whole lives on wikipedia I'm strange, aren't I?
