Swans is a great hospital so thats great you're going there and its good to have somewhere close. Yes the hospital is a bit ugly but the care is great, docs are good and they have lower rates of intervention so good choice Taylormade. Hope you have a fabulous pregnancy and birth

Hi .... thanks for jumping on this thread... this feels good already.
And hi Elle we emailed a few days ago .. please stay with us .. love your thoughts.

Wow I keep wondering how quick you need to move on all this obs and hosp. stuff. Now I'm thinking I better keep researching quick.

Ive only been in wa for a year snd half so not sure of hospitals at all. Im SR Canning Vale. We'll be going public and Im thinking Kayleea? I believe I'm eligable for there. 2 of the FS from my clinic work there. Your Thoughts? When googling my postcode leaves me showing as Bentley Hosp which I never even knew existed!

Even though Pivet do oversee you to 12wks I'm going to my GP Tuesday just to sus everything out. Shes lovely and I'm hoping she sends me in the right direction.

Having little support in wa I am interested in havung a student midwife to follow my pregnancy. For support and more so because after everything ... and all the assistance its taken to get pregnant the least I can give back is to assist our next generation of midwifes through their studies. And hopefully learn a bit extra aling the way!!

I'm probably as befuddled by hospitals etc as you are! My GP suggested Swan Districts so we went along & did the tour, then decided on there.

I'd be keen to have a student midwife follow me as well, but not really sure how I'd go about it. I think it would be nice to have one person who's the same all along & to answer all of my extra questions!

    Yes I'm here!

Thats great that you girls are thinking about a student midwife. It is an invaluable learning experience for us so thank you all. We will be able to answer your questions and queries even the ones that sound too silly to ask your doc/midwife. We can care for you in labour with supervision but dont have to if be at your labour and birth if you dont want. Everything is focused around your decisions and choices but we can give you extra info and research to help you make informed decisions.

I haven't had any experiences personally with Kaleeya but I have only heard good stories. I know that their rates of intervention etc are a lot lower then most hopsitals in Perth and they are more midwife led care aswell which has its benefits research shows like lower rates if epidurals, c/s, episiotomy etc..

SunshineBell I have emailed you and anyone else interested in a student midwife pls pm me

7 weeks today! Every day is a milestone for me, even though I've been fortunate enough to already see bubba's heart beat. I booked into my OB this morning (31 May), such a strange feeling after my history for the past 14 months or so. I've also booked in for another scan tomorrow week at the Women's Imaging Service near KEMH (the specialist on Friday said even though everything is great, it would be a good idea because of my age so I just follow advice, besides, I get to see bubba again).

I did manage to get in, Dr Adam Gubbay. From what I read he was very good and very thorough which is exactly what I need given my history and everything. I don't know why but my anxiety levels are through the roof this morning. It doesn't matter what I do I just can't settle it.

It must be very difficult being in a FIFO relationship while pregnant. I have a girlfriend who recently had a baby and her partner was FIFO, they were worried he wasn't going to make it home in time but they were worried bubs would come early because she was scheduled to have a c section, apparently the drs weren't keen on VBAC for her given the baby's size, from memory he was about 3.8kilos.
