I know! I know what I'm having and I don't want a whole house of blue!!!

His nursery will remain rainbow but I think with red or green as the accent colour (for cot sheets etc)

I had been applying for jobs closer to home for the past 10 months and yes it is depressing. But the job market itself is depressing, it's by no means a reflection on your skills or work ethic, it's simply too many seekers and not enough jobs so its cut throat. I work in govt and we have masters degree graduates taking level 2 admin jobs just to get a foot in the door hopefully after June things will look up x

Hard to remain confident especially knowing I only have 8 weeks to get a job! Hopefully things pick up soon for both of us

We are not finding out either! I know it's going to create uproar but I don't care

We told MIL what we were having, and she wouldn't believe it until the ob had confirmed it a couple of times. You just can't win. MILs are weird. And SIL, after we'd already had 2 scans that said girl, said make sure you tell us when you know what you're having, we had already told them too.

MissX I know where you are coming from, I don't want a whole baby wardrobe of yellow and light green since we aren't telling people the sex.

And I'm screwed if we have a girl. I HATE pink clothing ect. And everyone wants to buy pink as soon as they find out.

So I put in for my maternity leave today! Officially start 12th August, so I think someone worked out that is roughly 11 weeks away. Still forever, but now I have a count down date!
I am looking at the Gvt Paid Parental Leave and I just re-read where it stated that you can apply 'up to' 18 weeks PPL - Does anyone know if they have reasons for not giving you the full 18 weeks or is it a case of if you go back to work earlier, then you only get what portion of that 18 weeks would be before you go back to work?
For me, I am taking 52 weeks, but only have 14 weeks work leave, so then expect I can then claim the full 18 weeks PPL?
    Does that make sense?

Welcome and congrats Pony!!! You never stop worrying! I find myself proding my belly every now and then just to feel bub kick back

I feel HUGE today - so uncomfortable...not sure if I have eaten something that doesn't agree or if this is all pregnancy! ugh....hopefully I will be back to feeling normal tomorrow

Rainbow - those clothes are too cute! My best friend bought us a Metallica baby shirt and my MIL said that obviously we could only put that on a boy....oh dear....she didn't like my response when I said that if I have a girl, she would be wearing it along with the cutest pair of converse hitop boots! - my poor child - won't be to traditional I don't think!

to everyone else - I am at work, so just did a quick scan of bubhub!
