Default Changing from Zoloft to Effexor

I'm hoping that someone can tell me their experiences of changing from Zoloft to Effexor.
My doctor has told me to stop taking the Zoloft, wait three days, then commence the Effexor but I'm terrified!! I'm struggling even though I'm on 200gms of Zoloft and don't want to crash in a massive heap
How did you cope with the change?? Did you stay fairly stable or crash??
    Thanks!!!

Is there a particular reason you are going off zoloft? I haven't changed from zoloft to Efflexor but I have changed between zoloft and another antidepressant before. I didn't crash between changing meds. I improved actually. I got worse when I was on zoloft, so when I changed, I got much better. Hope you feel better soon xx

No advice but fingers crossed its a smooth transition for you... I'm not sure it swapping meds you still get that initial settling in stage.

For me they both didn't work and I felt. No change. I hope someone will be able to give you a positive story.

Becca - I'm changing because the Zoloft just isn't working I started on 50mg and worked my way up to 200mg with very little effect

May I ask why you're changing meds? Is the Zoloft working? If so, I do wonder why the doctor is changing you over?
