Default AF pain worse after giving birth?

    Posting here for more views.

I have PCOS and Endo. After I had the twins when my AF returned at 10 months PP it was horrible. I was always in horrendous pain from it, had heavy bleeding etc. Much worse than beforehand.
Specialist told me pregnancy cures it and because I'd had a bad pregnancy the next time I should be fine.

Fast forward 4 years later and I have DD3 who is 5 months. The past 10 days I've been losing what appears to be old blood and am assuming AF is getting ready to come back.
Tonight especially though I'm in a world of pain. I have the most awful cramping and don't know what I can take for pain relief because I'm BF.

Am so over putting up with issues like this, have done so since I was 16 and they just get worse.

    Has anyone had anything similar?

I've heard the first period post baby is horrendous. Not speaking from personal experience as I'm still waiting for my af since dd1s birth in 2010.

    You can take nurofen.

This post is TMI, don't read if you are squeamish at all.

My first af after dd1 was horrific! It was awful! So painful, pain radiating down my legs, the colour was black, and dark brown like old blood, the consistency was similar to scabs. Words cannot explain how awful it was.

Second one, even more painful, but was heavy like I thought I was hemorrhaging, thought I might completely bleed out. But at least it was normal colour.

Only had a couple of af's before getting pregnant with dd2. Still haven't got af back since her birth (nearly 1 year old) but I am not looking forward to it.

Mine was normal and then came every 28 days like clockwork once I stopped BF at 7 months.

I never had any issues before children or after my first two, but after the third child my body decided to torture me . Periods returned 12 weeks pp even though I was bfing around the clock and the pain was horrible. I went from light periods lasting 3-4 days before last pregnancy to extremely heavy for 5 days and light for another 7 days each month.

The pain has now eased but it was like that for two years for me ... Dr just fobbed me off with a 'you can't always be lucky with light periods'

I hope everything settles down for you.
