    Hi!

I am! My hubby does FIFO to Port Hedland on a 3/1 roster.

We have a 14 month old son

Where in Sydney are you from? How long have you been part of FIFO?

    Is that 8/6 days?
    That's an awesome roster!

We are still fairly new to it all. I think he started in September last year!

Hubby has taken long service leave from his job in Sydney to try it out. But we just decides the other day that its working well, so he is going to resign from the job here. We want to do it for as long as possible but hopefully a minimum of 3 years.

    Hello
Yes it is 8days 6home when he first started it was huge blocks then he went to 2away/1home when our fist baby arrived he swapped job and got an awesome roster I agree

Still after 7 months you know if it will work for you

I'm amazed that his company here let him work while he is on long service leave I didnt think you were allowed to do that!! How great he is able to try it while on leave!!

Think if you have family or friends around its much easier lifestyle I always find weekends hard as we don't have family close and friends always busy doing family things on weekends.

My hubby is an engineer. What job does your partner do while away?

Yea we were pretty lucky that they allowed it! He took the first 3 months as long service and then all of his annual leave but is now on unpaid leave... We are getting taxed heaps though!!

We did think about moving over there but with our son being so young (and we plan on more) its best that I stay where our supports are. DHs family live 5 minutes down the road and my family live 10 minutes and have all been fantastic supports

Hubby is a signal electrical for the railways, pretty much the same job here except he is a supervisor there

Just realised I can't even spell the topic properly should be wives or wife whoops! Can I blame that on sleep deprivation
