Hi ladies, I'm new to this site. It was great to see an over 40's discussion group.
i am 42 with two children 18 and 14 yrs and am 10 weeks along today. I am also feeling nervous as we had a mmc early this year, and so excited we are pregnant again so soon...but anxious. I had an 8 wk scan few weeks ago and all good, each week is a milestone, as the last one we found out at the 12 wk scan that baby didnt even make 6 wks and I had no idea. Although I kept saying this pregnancy is so different from my last two, I didn't feel sick or anything really. But this time I have nausea, sore breasts and am so so tired. This is reassuring for me though.

    Hi Ladies,

Firstly, welcome PreciousOne. Congrats and all I can say is I totally understand your fears.

A quick update...the heavens are smiling on me, our numbers have risen well! They've gone from Monday 8,800 to today, 48 hours later 15,000! Progesterone has gone back up to 60 (was 50) and oestrogen has gone up to 1400 (was 1300). We made it to 6w2d!

I can't even begin to explain how relieved and grateful I feel. It has been a terribly emotional day and such a roller coaster this past few weeks. I think this is the highest my HCG has ever been out of the 6 losses now from memory (will have to go back and double check) but now, all for the next milestone, Friday morning and a little HB on the ultrasound. I think after that, I'll relax a bit!

MissLeo - I remember that 13 weeks as hitting me with fatigue too but it definitely got better for me in the second trimester. I haven't felt that 'wall' of fatigue since then. Remember that growing twins definitely does take double the effort in those early days. As for preparing, I've only just started. I wasn't game to start too early. I only shopped for pram, cots, clothes etc from 26 weeks so I'm in the thick of preparation now at 28 weeks. Miraclebubba- great to read that your results were good. Yay!! Hope everyone else continues to travel well too.

Thanks Nat - lovely to hear that from another over 40's twin mumma. I've been really lucky with very little MS compared to what they say could happen with twins and it stopped completely around 11 wks. I start yawning around 5pm and can't keep my eyes open past 9pm but all in all I feel really blessed that it's been a pretty smooth ride so far . Good luck with your preparations...how exciting!! We have looked at prams to see if they will fit in our existing cars but that's it - at the moment we are just hoping we can push through the renos on our little 110 year old house to make it fit for 2 babies BEFORE they actually arrive..or I'm off to live at the inlaws for a while

I have started spotting this morning, am so anxious. I spoke to the midwife, and said to take it easy today as I have a Dr app. scheduled later today anyway. I'm not cramping, and it's brown blood, hopefully ok, fingers crossed. Has anybody had this experience? I just want the day to hurry up, so I find out what's happening!
