    Default What contraceptive are you?

    Hi ladies
Just wondering if anyone has the implanon and if it has worked ok for you?
I had the IUD but then got pregnant with it! My husband and I dont want anymore children but have been talked out of a vasectomy.

What do you use and is it working well foryou? Dont really want to use condoms...

Lol, I thought the title of this thread would be some weird quiz like "What animal are you" hahaha!
ATM, condoms and BF. DH will be getting the snip as soon as we get around to organising it. I don't want to go back on to the pill. It worked but coming off it really mucked up my cycle and it always makes me gain weight- so don't need help with that!

My dr used shock therapy to talk us out of a vasectomy.
She said what if my baby dies of sids or what if something happened to my toddler ..... scares the crap out of us

We use withdrawal method. It has worked perfectly to achieve and avoid pregnancy for 8 years now for us. I should note that we accept we could have an accident and that would be ok.

I'm a long time user of the pill.

I think it's a good contraception method provided it 'agrees' with you (some women complain of weight gain and crazy hormones), and of course you take it properly.

It's important to know exactly what can make the pill ineffective (eg, antibiotics) and ensure you use condoms during the times you are not considered protected.

Just condoms in the four years before DH and I started ttc. Not sure whether we'll continue with just condoms once we've finished our family but that is likely to be a very long time away.
