    Default Who has tried Vitex?

I'm 23, have PCOS and TTC#1. I wanted to try a more natural way of getting pregnant before I go off to the fertility specialist. I just bought some vitex and wanted to know what everyone else's experiences were like using it. Did you have bad side effects? How long did it take to work? Is 660mg a day enough? Do I take it if I have AF? Would love to hear anyone's experiences.
    Thank you in advance!

Disclaimer - I am not currently TTC but using vitex to regulate(hopefully) my period after coming off pill. I think that there are different guidelines to using it when you are actively TTC - I think you are supposed to stop after you ovulate and resume after your period finishes but as I am not there yet I haven't looked too much into this.

I am only a week into taking vitex and I have had no symptoms/side effects so far. I am currently CD almost 60 so am taking it until I get a period, then ill stop for AF and begin again. Sorry not much help!

Thank you azimuth, I am currently CD88 and not long started tracking my BBT so I'm not sure about stopping when or if I ovulate. Hope we both have some luck with it!

Try going to a naturopath, they'll make a more concentrated solution.

I used it when TTC no 1 and I swear it helped me fall pregnant.

Thanks Misho, I am going to try a month of Thompsons Vitex (1 tablet=1000mg) for a month and see how I go. If it's not working I'll got check out a naturopath.

Good luck.

Fairy -did you continue vitex through your pregnancy, or stop after ovulation, or something else?

Stopped as soon as i found out for sure that i was pregnant, i hadn't known i had ovulated and we hadn't really been trying, was just trying to get periods regulated and my progesterone levels back up before we started trying.

Just thought I would update - yesterday was CD61 and today is CD1!

Was on vitex for around 10 days before AF turned up and it could just be coincidence but I am happy.

I am not taking it while bleeding but will start again in a week or so and see if my cycle is shorter next month.
