Default Baby Girl - Arya ??

Hi, we are expecting a baby girl in July this year and my husband is very keen on the name Arya.

Initially I really liked it, now I am thinking so much into it that I I don't know if I like it anymore. Is it too different? What are peoples thoughts?

The only other names that we can agree on are Layla & Ava.

Please let me know what you think of Arya, am I being silly?

Is it pronounced Aria or like Are ya? I like Aria, with that spelling.

I actually prefer Layla or Ava though.

Is it pronounced Aria? If so, I love it, and also love your other two names :-)

All I could think of was Arrrrrrr ya in a pirate voice.

But I'm guessing its meant to be Aria?

I like Layla and Ava much more.

I like it, but I think it's from Game of Thrones, so personally, I wouldn't use it. I seriously loved the name Dexter, but had to veto it because I'm just not overly keen in names from TV shows.

It's Aria but I thought I should spell it Arya so it's not the same as the awards.

I like Ava but it's becoming so common these days. Looks like Layla might be the best option, although that girl from Big Brother puts me off the name..... I don't know.

I like the name Aria but I wouldn't spell it with a Y, people would never read it right!

Aria is also a solo piece typically for a opera... which can be quite pretty. I would think of that before I thought of the awards... which is commonly spelt ARIA anyway, since it's an acronym.

Ava was the 10th most popular girls name from last year, FYI.
